Are the usual gruesome twosome chipping in with untruths.
Like i have said many times Tanaka has a lot of talent but is prone to these sort of errors where he seems to think he has all the time in the world and loses possession in dangerous areas. Wonder why these mistakes stick in the mind, perhaps because they keep happening. Similarly I like Gnonto, was delighted when we signed him, not many were, but I also see his limitations as well as his strengths.
But hey you two keep going with your slagging off of the likes of Rodon, Ampadu, Farke etc, people who seem to give their all for the club.
I know which players, managers and forumites I would want beside me in the trenches.
Because he isn't a Daniel Farke favourite so your brain bookmarks any mistakes for ammunition no matter how rare?
Couldn't just give credit to Cunha which was the point of the post (or sympathy for Tanaka) . . . .
Had to get the look how vindicated Saint Daniel is in.

Noooo had to get your look how wise Daniel is in.
Oh so now as well as slagging of Farke and the loyal Leeds player you want to have a love in for a Manchester United player. You are lower than an erectionless snake. I wouldn't buy a barely used coat for a chihuahua from you even if it was furry on the inside.
It was nice of Cunha to console AO - likely reminding him that it didn't matter as because AO didn't start all his blinker wearing fans can still trot that meaningless stat out. And that only people with eyes have noticed him making mistakes.

Yeah I think Cunha the Brazil player deserves credit for his nice words.
"I’ve played against Ao many times. He is a truly fantastic player. I told him that what he is doing for his country is amazing. To me, the current Japan squad is one of the best teams in the world. What you guys are doing for the national team is truly beautiful. It’s not just about Japan’s football culture; teams all over the world now hold Japan in high regard. I know this is a painful moment for him, but I wanted him to remember what a significant figure he is in the football world and just how much he has contributed to the Japanese team."
I don't want to think about snakes erectionless or otherwise . . . . . . .

Weird the amount of desperation you have to criticise Tanaka isn't it
Didn't hear a peep when he was being raved about by the media last game after dominating a Brighton midfielder being linked to Europe elite teams. . . . .
And he simply doesn't make these type of mistakes too often compared to the amount of times he receives the ball in deep areas and is told to progress it not boot it . . . . . .
But stick to the weird narrative
There are times in games when footballers should play safe!
What you don't do in the final minutes of match of this magnitude is attempt to dribble out of your box with attackers all around you & then play a simple woeful short pass to ones teammate. Ao boots the ball into the row Z & its quite conceivable Japan may still be on the tournament.
Playing safe/sensible would have saved Tanaka all the personal disappointment, hurt & tears, which may haunt him for years.

I agree.
As a fan you'd say clear your lines.
But players are told not to, plenty of interviews with ex players who have done just that and got a hammering for it.
Especially players in Takana's role, they are instructed to take risks and build.
Tanaka isn't the first deep lying playmaker to get caught costly and won't be the last.
On another day he gets away with it, Japan counter and score and people rave about how well he did under pressure.

We are not the only ones why our fans have his errors sticking in their minds.
Quite a few on here thought the same.
Many mates texted me "we've seen this quite a few times" including former forumulties Ges & the original White Riot (Steve).

We can't all be wrong!
Perhaps listen to a guy who understands the position Tanaka plays and what he's asked to do then . . .
Declan Rice was asked to name a standout Japanese player . .
Mitoma? Kudo? Doan? Endo? No
"The guy at Leeds, he's an unbelievable player, Tanaka? Yeah, I've seen him play, he's a top player. Obviously the Championship gets shown on the TV all the time and Leeds are a massive club, so it's good to have them back in the Premier League, but I know he's been like their Player of the Season and when I watch him play he's a really good player, really energetic, really good on the ball."

I'm not disputing Tanaka isn't a class footballer.
Ao needs to eradicate these errors out of his game, if he wishes to regularly start for his club & country.

There are just times when he seems to have no awareness of what is around him. For me it is his big weakness. If he can overcome it he can be a cracking player but if he can't he may always be a player that is better as a big fish in a small pond, Bundesliga 2, Championship etc.
Not even about simply booting it but not turning directly into trouble.
Though perhaps we imagine this sort of thing. We do not see things that the one eyed snakes do.

Typical thick as f*ck footballer who has no real knowledge but played against someone once. Probably the only player he could remember.
Declan Rice has to be the most overrated footballer on the planet, what is he actually good at?

Anyway Tanaka has his own thread.
Just wanted to give Cunha credit for being kind.
Surprised you haven't opened up a Casemiro appreciation page after his goal - maybe you don't like him as he has left MU. I wouldn't play tiddlywinks with you if you brought your own chessboard to the snooker hall.

Jeez, this thread has been derailed from a good deed by Cunha, to the abilities/inabilities of Tanaka and now you’ve chucked Declan Rice in for good measure

100% he has the ability to be a class footballer and has shown it. But there comes the point where the errors outweigh the good and AO is very much balancing on the razorblade of destiny.

Full respect to Cunha, a nice thing to do. Probably would have been better if he'd told Tanaka what a daft c*nt he was.
