Agree again... Smiths are too esoteric and The Clash would hate being known as a supergroup.

For me AC/DC were/are more of an entertainment act than a band Like you say, some of their hits have their moments but I couldnt listen to a full album.
Im the same with Radiohead. I know they have a huge a passionate following, but not my taste.

I cant believe I didnt add U2 to my list. Still one of my favourite bands. The Unforgetable Fire is a great album. Their earlier stuff is best
To me they are a supergroup - popular around the world over a number of decades.

People need to be hatred for The Smiths as is the case with Radiohead to one side, they are two of the greatest bands in the history of music.

The Smiths remain a very important part of musical history, not only did they write some cracking songs the parts Johnny Mar played with his guitar fills and riffs with a strict no distortion or solo theme was just so out there for its time. Johnny found ways round this to increase the variety in the Smiths sound and still today he is up there with the best around. When we talk of bands pushing the boundaries Radiohead have done it all, they had a golden period where their albums were no only clever musically but as they gained in popularity they would constantly go against the flow and formula of success to test their fanbase. Tom Yorke is not just an artist but he is on a different level to most. Their albums OK Computer, The Bends and Pablo are classic Radiohead. Its a musical journey that just keeps on giving if you are prepared to listen. The Clash were good but a bit one dimensional, you knew straight away it was a Clash song, did they push boundaries, not really, but their lyrics were good.
