A tricky one to call. Even if Spain play at their best, dominate possession etc they aren't great at scoring. Argentina on the other hand seem to be able to win withouit playing brilliantly and can create and score chances - as shown against us with our park the bus defence (park the bus tactic doesn't always work kids).

I see Spain dominating and if they get in front winning, they showed against France that they were able to see out a match fairly comfortably and still be dangerous.

On the flip side if Argentina go in front I can see Spain struggling even more to break them down.

So basically who scores first wins.

I'm with Weasel, first scorer wins. I don't see it being a classic, free scoring game, but I hope I'm wrong. Spain have grown into the tournament and seem to have momentum on their side, but Argentina are making a habit of only playing in fits and starts and still winning. Interesting clash of styles, if nothing else. As a side note, the half time, Super Bowl type extended break, is a ballix.

I remember saying after Euro 2020, that they were the best side in it and would potentially go onto a new dynasty, as they had a lot of exciting young players. They've already won the Euros, now I think they'll add the World Cup. They look like being the new dominant force for the next few years.

Argentina for me. Spain dont have the height in defence England have, and Argentina still had a good few headers on goal, including the second goal. Spain have definitely come more into games recently, but I think Argentina will be to smart for them.

I picked Spain before the tourney started. Logical choice was France but Spain (esp Spanish people) are a big part of my life right now. So I just had an urge to go with Spain. Though I think Argentina are the best attacking team I've seen at the WC, I'm sticking with Spain: they just know how to win big games...

But when Argnetina played they really did play some great stuff especially with their quick passes from the back. None of the ploddy ball stuff that you love but quick short passes that got them out of defence so quickly.

They are physical and dark arts masters but a much better footballing side than people want to admit.

14 wins in a row, 9 defeats since summer 2018, they are an extremely good side.

Well organised, well drilled, very hard working, and when it calls for it really good on the ball

Sharp, direct passes, getting it forward quickly then lots of rotation and 1 touch passing moves.

Not easy to carry a player out of possession and be successful (Messi presses a bit, but not much). They are so well drilled though it hasn't been an issue.
