Is it just me or...?

We let 2 x goalkeepers go (I get it) but... those 2 goalkeepers we let go are snapped up by: Arsenal (Premiership winners 25/26) and Man U (3rd in Premiership 25/26). I get that each has gone to their respected new club as #2 / #3 pick but should we have persuaded one to extend for a year? Okay, should we have persuaded Meslier to stay for another year?

Now we are in a pickle! It seems that Perri is not trusted as a #1. And we vastly overpaid for him (meaning he was likely a panic buy). He is actually worth around £8.5m so we paid almost double his worth. AFAIAC he is worth another go at #1 but DF might not agree.

Whatever we do next: we are going to have to overpay for a new #1 because every club owner knows that we are desperate!

Do we go with Perri as #1 or do we buy an upgrade?

Darlow let LUFC down, simple as. DF gave him the number 1 shirt midway through the season and at £1.3 million wages per year he was offered more money for this season. We believe he was told he would be number 2 just like the start of last season BUT the *anker moved to the scum

And he did exactly the right thing for him! I really don't see how people can blame him. He will be on a massive wage compared to what we paid him. If you're going to be #2, be a #2 at the place that offers the most money!!! He's 35 and has limited time left on these wages: you take the best offer

Darlow has done the most sensible thing. He is setting himself up for the future. How you can think that he has done a Judas on us I cannot understand! WE LET HIS CONTRACT RUN OUT! He owes us NOTHING!!! More fool Leeds for not offering him an extension to his contract earlier...

Realistically, how many more points do we think we’d have got last season with Trafford instead of Darlow?

Trafford showed, in his one season with Burnley, that he was head and shoulders above any keeper in the championship. Burnley's expected goals against was higher than ours yet they smashed the previous record for least goals out of the water conceding just 16 times (interestingly our 30 conceded would have been a new record). If we'd have had Trafford that season, and he simply performed to the same standard, we would have walked the division and likely set a new points record.

So in terms of a fee being paid for a 'championship' only proven player than really it is fair to pay the very top end.

Obviously concerns over his record in the prem but it is hard to know what to make of his record in Burnley's relegation season. They were abysmal, trying to play out from the back which if you get caught usually means the opposition having the opportunity of a shot from very good positions. Whilst not completely writing it off I think there are certainly allowances to be made given that it was also his first season of regular football and as such was boy trying to do a man's job and not being given much help. That he bounced back so well the following season would suggest a reasonable level of mental toughness which is vital for a keeper.

I would ignore what happened at City. Not the first time Pep has bought a player, then changed his mind on him, as shown with the way KP was treated. I don't think it particularly counts for anything and in buying Donnaruma City were buying an extremely good keeper, who's only real weakness appears to be when the ball is at his feet.

If there is the opportunity to sign Trafford then I hope the club gives it everything. Would potentially be a great signing.

do not be a dick head. Darlow is a greedy person. None of us know when LUFC offered Darlow a new and improved contract. Before joining LUFC he was a second rate GK, when he moved to LUFC he improved, became number 1 with Wales. Anyone on here earning a basic pay of £1.3 million p.a. ( and this was to be increased from LUFC for the new season)

Other than PJM getting all bitter and twisted over FREE AGENT Darlow joining Man U this is a closer poll than I expected
