I don't know how much he is on but he will be on more than he was on here. Even if he is on £35k a week, that's £1.82m a year (£3.64m over 2 years)...

Good that he has gone but these kind of actions do t bode well for those of us who thought the coffers would be swelled by the sales of ramizani, Gelhardt,Piroe, Joseph etc all will either be transferred for nowt or loaned out until released - there’s always mitigating factors but in general we appear to be an appallingly bad club at player trading.

We do. Had hoped we'd turned a corner with the sale of Glen Kamara, a player that we made a profit on despite it looking like he was no longer needed by us.

I think we did okay with the sales of Rutter, Summerville and Gray too.
People can make out the Summerville fee was too low but at that point he was a one season wonder at championship level - with suspicions that he had been found out. West Ham are selling a player that is now a bit more proven at the top level (yes I know he had shown flashes in the prem with Leeds but many young players can have a few good games and then fade so it wasn't like he was prem proven).

Rutter we got our money back, maybe a tiny profit but, as with Summerville our hands were tied by the contract clauses.

Gray I think we got a good fee. I would say that two years later he isn't an established prem player despite seeming to have done well at times with Spurs. That we got Rodon to come the other way made it an excellent deal.

This is why our PSR rate (or whatever they are calling it now) is always so bad for us and why we cannot afford to buy anyone decent. We always pay top dollar buying, we destroy that player (by never playing him) then we cannot sell them for taffy! Loaning players out is a complete waste: they never ever sell for decent money. Examples of purchases we lose (or will lose) money on: Wober (£11m) / Harrison ($11m) / Ramazani (£10m) / Perri (£17m) / Piroe (£15m) / Aaronson £25m ). There are many others in recent years...

The stupid loan clauses really f*cked us up. Likely we could have got a good fee for Wober, Harrison etc if we could have sold them - but who was going to buy them when they could have them free for a year (or two in the case of Everton with Harrison). Likely West Ham didn't insert relegation clauses (as they considered themselves to big to go down) and as such they have been able to get decent returns for their best players and even put themselves in a posiiton to presumably keep paying Bowen premier league wages.

I have long accepted that the days when we sold on players and made a profit have long since gone. Occasionally, we make a killing - McCormack to Foolem, Jack Clarke to Spares etc., but generally what we get in is below the market price. It's the Leeds United way.

With the current crop of deadwood / unwanted players I think the starting point should be nowt and then anything after that is a bonus. Can't rely on income from player sales. Pointless getting vexed over this. Just need to move on.
