I'm guessing Joseph will continue his rehab until January and will then go out on loan for the remainder of the season.malcolmw wrote: ↑Tue Jul 28, 2026 10:02 pm Not sure I entirely agree. I think Bornaauw will stay because he's picked up another niggly injury. So he wont be too salable just yet - a loan maybe, but dont think so.
I, sadly, do think Willie will leave. If not in this window then in January. He just wants more minutes and wont be getting them.
I agree re. Tanaka - at least I hope he stays.
Joseph is not going anywhere yet as he has at least 7 to 9 months of injury rehab to go through. He wont be playing much this season. Back on loan then - until we can make a bit off him?? We are sure to have a new striker in place which will guarentee he wont get much time at Leeds.

Re: Summer transfer gossip and squad discussion
Gnonto probably worth about 5-7.5M atm, he's been "benched" for a while and clearly "not wanted" by Farke and that affects his price. If we sell for the top of that number we will pocket 1.75M ish
If Brandt grudgingly decides to come Gnonto drops well down the pecking order

''anything over £25 Million?'' Been holding it in but now I know you're insane!
Gnonto will go for under £10m if we sell. Heck pal: where is your mind?

Leeds need to bring in a midfielder who can score goals and a decent number 9 in Jan 2027.

you lot are always telling me how great Gnonto is so £25m for an Italian international player should be right on the money even through i have never rated him

10M for Gnonto, would be 6M ish in profit, 40% of that goes to FC Zurich so we'd clear 3.6M at Gnonto's top price...

His smile is worth more than that!
This kid showed great promise and he is Italy's youngest ever scorer. So what went wrong? The club have to take some of the blame for his lack of improvement IMO. Is it Farke or is Willy just not as good as we thought he was going to be?

Well we did tbf, He's on a par with Cry in terms of talent, slightly different players with Gnonto being less of a soloist more of a team playerVictor_Notts-17 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 29, 2026 12:48 pm His smile is worth more than that!

Re: Summer transfer gossip and squad discussion
Graham gave an update.
Progressing with Trafford but not done yet
Offer for Charles on the table but no indication Southampton will consider it
Offer for Brandt on the table but he's taking his time and has other suitors
They like Espi and he is one potential target but nothing advanced yet
Likely to go for similar younger profile though, but not Liam Delap.
Unsurprisingly Dybala is pie in the sky talk unfortunately

Re: Summer transfer gossip and squad discussion
Why would we want Dybala at this point in his career? He'll be 33 years old in November. He's been injured off and on the last two seasons at Roma. His goal production has fallen off a cliff. And I don't think he is suited for a high pressing style anyway.Cjay wrote: ↑Wed Jul 29, 2026 4:57 pm Graham gave an update.

What's holding up Trafford I wonder
Brandt I get, we're the fall back
Charles - fingers crossed but he's "been away" from the squad so far this season
We should go after Espi, very high ceiling
Watched a vid of Delap earlier of him blazing shot after shot over the bar, there's a player there but Espi is further along
Dybala is misinformation or just pure nonsense

Trafford is on holiday - assume still part of the period obligated by FIFA after a wc. Graham Smyth says personal terms and agreement are all in place. I guess he just has to come back to England to sign and do the media stuff? The Subhuman wrote: ↑Wed Jul 29, 2026 5:48 pm What's holding up Trafford I wonder

The Brandt thing worries me now - now with Real Sociodad putting an offer to him, that seems real competition as he gets European football. For me, this one is worth flexing some of the 49ers financial muscle. We need to now show we wont be shoved off our recruitment goals by someone coming in at the last minute. Maybe we should send our German contingent over to chat with him in a back alley
I also think players like Brandt are creative playmakers - I feel the same about Wilson. We lacked that last season, which made the striker gap more glaring. I think we may get more goals from more players with players like this doing what an Aaronson or Gnonto cant in the final 1/3
Charles - I think Leeds have given Southampton the finger and said you call us, we aren't calling you anymore - which is good in my view.
I agree re. Espi - would be a great signing and investment - big release clause though! But he's young, big and strong.
We shouldn't touch Delap with a barge pole in my view. No way we get any real ROI on a guy like him.

Injuries recently would be a concern.BlackHillsPaul wrote: ↑Wed Jul 29, 2026 5:22 pm Why would we want Dybala at this point in his career? He'll be 33 years old in November. Talent wise he's levels above anyone else we've got though.
Isn't happening anyway.
Have serious doubts Brandt will either.

Re: Summer transfer gossip and squad discussion
Issue with someone younf and talented like Carlos Espi is they have to be convinced they will play and develop.
That isn't easy.
DF has his favourites, form is irrelevant they play if fit rightly or wrongly.
Nmecha only played 16 games worth of minutes last season as backup to DCL and his form was very decent (better minutes to goal wise than DCL) but didn't matter.
Someone like Espi will want guarantees of opportunities, DF isn't doing that and is no point the club doing it because he will just end up frustrated if they don't come.
I imagine that will he one stumbling block.
Other clubs may not have that for a start which gives them an advantage

I'm with you on Brandt. And I actually think we are as low as 3rd choice. I think he wants European Football more than he wants the Premier League.
