Going through my music photos to see which to frame. Not taken by me I hasten to add, though I do have a fair amount of meh photos of acts I've seen. But it's an old coffee table book which I bought in the 70's and is falling apart. (But the photos are still in good condition it's just the binding has gone)

Need to narrow it down to 12 12x12 inch high quality photo's

Obviously bands I've seen so The Stiff tours are fair game, I have great photos of Rachel Sweet, Chaz Jankel, Norman Watt Roy, Wreckless Eric, Lene Lovitch, Jona Lewie etc, A couple of great Ian Dury ones, The Kiljoys (Kevin Rowland and Gislaine Weston later of Girlschool.) TV Smith and Gaye Advert also. Then Steve Gibbons Band, whom I've seen 4/5 times. Hawkwind (well Stacia and Renee mainly.) Very early Ultravox with Billy Currie, before Midge Ure ruined them, Sham 69, The Lurkers.

Then there's the greats I haven't seen including some really great Floyd shots, a cracking Zappa double spread, Jerry Garcia with Bob Weir. CSNY, Rod Stewart and the Faces, T Rex, The Who, Debbie Harry (stunning photo that.) Yes, The Clash with Simonon in that iconic blue leather jacket. Leon Russell, Joan Baez, The Byrds from the mid seventies. Bob Marley, The Wailers, including Junior Marvin, and the I Threes. Dylan, Iggy Pop, Fairport Convention. Ike and Tina

Really cracking photo of Vinegar Joe with a hippy Robert Palmer and Elkie Brooke in full flow, Gen X before Idol went blonde, Ry Cooder, Fee Weybill with Re Tune, Johnny Moped, The Pirates, the Damned, Dave Vanian, Ari Up and the Slits. Great photo of bassist Alphonso Johnson (ex Weather Report, Billy Cobham, etc.) Tom Verlaine, Stunning shot of Lita Ford in full leather, Very early Adam and The Ants.

The rejects are Joni, Clapton (with Yvonne Elliman,) The Stones. Jagger. Van Morrison with the Caledonian Express (though that blonde cellist is very easy on the eye.) Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis

This is going to be a fun exercise.

Haven't heard the new Stones album yet, Malcolm.

Worryingly, their album only receives three stars in the Mojo magazine.

On first listen, that's about what I'd give it 64. Just sounds like they're trying too hard imo.

Don't mind a bit of CW, probably 'SROTSROTS' her best followed by 'Hiss Spun'.......... but imo, not as good as A.A. Williams though.

SROTSROTS was a bit mellower for her and the new tracks so far continue that, thought there was a lot of Bjork in She Reaches tbh, musically not vocally

Kathryn Mohr though is my favourite post rock/dark folk singer. Oldest Sea the band

50 Foot Wave for me atm though, 2022 album Staring In To The Sun... Kristin Hersh was never better

If you want classic Sabbath/Zeppelin/Southern Boogie, good old fashioned blues rock this album is the nuts

How about this one Muppet.. Medieval Fantasy doom metal. A voice to rival the greats (Riley Pinkerton) some excellent guitar and you get full value with the performance art between the songs. They go all out and even have a dancer/reaper character and a sword fight
