A limited one.

But definitely not a new contact one imo.

I'd be disappointed if we saw much of BA next season imo he's someone who should at best be needed very sparingly

You don't sign attacking players because they are a nuisance
But would you not agree he made the biggest difference tonight?

I would yes.

He did well, he actually ran with the ball well and was a decent pass or two.

And I accept he has a usefulness as a nuisance (all be it I dislike players who the best thing anyone can say is they run around a lot).

But in games against the better teams perhaps it's useful occasionally? But less so when breaking teams down and as we progress as a team you'd imagine we will be doing that more often more and more.

And if DF has his way back to his possession stuff it will.

And that's where the lacking in his game (the technical side, final pass, decision, shot) outweighs his energy at this level.

I just think another Harrison situation would develop imo, he looked useful on occasion, he then became a very expensive problem for years.

As you said in your post maybe we don't totally move past BA this summer? But in 12 months I'd hope we would have surely?

If you give him a new 3,4 year deal we probably end up with another Harrison (all he it probably not on as ridiculous wages).

A very useful footballer to have in one's squad.
Ah, all planned. The old "skim off the side of the boot, close to a whiff" shot that confuses everyone. :-D

Brenden made a massive difference to our game.
Yes but he's now scored his goal for the next 2 years, so what do we do with him now? :)

What was with that pitch? One half looked a parking lot under construction.
No wonder all the goals were scored at the one end.

At present I think it needs to be 2 of Ampadu, Stach or Longstaff alongside either Wilson or Aaronsen and then 2 up top (such as Okafor and DCL) with one of the up top either being a striker/winger or a bit of a floater (Aaronse/Wilson).
Yeah, I'm thinking Amps/Stach/Longsatff in the middle, Wilson playing off DCL.

Nobody pissing with that midfield.

Yea, it looked terrible! Like they laid rolls of sod over artificial turf. Which they have done at other NFL stadiums over the years. But that wasn't the case here. Soldier Field always has a natural grass pitch. But it get's replaced every summer due to heavy use. The NFL Bears, and the MLS Chicago Fire both play home games there. And there are many other events as well. So they had recently replaced the entire pitch. And it was obvious. :|

Watch him score 10 goals and get 10 assists this season. While Leeds move up the table and fight for a place in Europe. THEN you're fighting supporters that are desperate to keep him. Just to be safe we'd better move him now....

All about weighing the balance between what extra you get from a player attack wise in comparison to what you lose defensively. Similarly can see Dan James playing well there.
Yes, I know James has played there but for some reason Gnonto doesn’t look right there, it’s probably just my thoughts on it.

I said it many years ago that if we ever play Liverpool in Chicago then we will beat them 4-2 in a glorious comeback, but nobody ever listens to me, that I can call he shots. I knew it all along.

Brenden is more than a nuisance, he scores goals & makes things happen.

We don't get any complaints from you when Piroe, Gnonto & james start & rarely effect games.

Brenden changes the game, scores a lovely goal & it's time to lay into Aaronson who always gives his all, even when he has a poor game.

BlackHillsPaul wrote: ↑Sun Aug 02, 2026 11:03 pm I agree Aaronson is often disappointing offensively. Absolutely maddening at times. But he has been a VERY consistent disruptor! An elite level Honey Badger to borrow an NFL description. And we still have a need for a very consistent disruptor. Until we upgrade the squad significantly, I think we are going to be seeing a lot of him.
A perfect description of Brenden 👍🏻👍🏻

No idea Malcolm. Most big cities in the USA have sizable EPL fanbases. I do know that LUFC have a large supporters group chapter in Chicago. But this was set up as a "home match" for Manure. Go figure.... :duno:
