I don't think a second player is imminent, it's been years since we've had an out of the blue non FA signing. They're much easier to work on and keep quiet
That's what I've been thinking too - medical & pictures Friday, out on the pitch at ER at half-time Saturday.

You heard it here second. :)

Definitely makes sense - perhaps even not releasing the photos and confirmation prior to the game but just bringing him out either just before kick off or at half time to lift the crowd.

weasel wrote: ↑Wed Aug 05, 2026 11:15 am I'm relaxed with this window, although will be much more relaxed once JT signs.

For me this summer our biggest needs were a keeper and a creative player (10). Once Struyjk departed then a centre back became a priority too. So as soon as JT signs we have secured our biggest needs and probably, quite rightly, the club is securing the most important needs before adding any extra touches. If we finish the summer with just Wilson, Tarik and JT signing I will be delighted. If we then add a bit more then it is the decorations on the cakes (I don't like cherries).

Quality rather than quantity was needed this summer. We edged more towards quantity last summer, which was fair enough, and some signings were better than others but it has given us the base to not need to sign 8 players but to actually improve the starting ine-up.
On top of the 3 above we need a number 9, back up keeper ( should never of let Darlow go), player capable of playing LB. And only allow Gnonto, Perri , Gerhardt, Rams to be sold
Leeds need to bring in a midfielder who can score goals and a decent number 9 in Jan 2027.

Charles: never wanted to come here! Plus moving to london is a lot more attractive than Leeds. We cannot afford an incomplete footballer at this early stage of our Premiership tenure.

Espi: us or Real Madrid? Give your heed a wobble...
In no way or shape did I ever say we weren't as an attractive proposition as those, so no needing to give my "head a wobble" old chap. My post was simply closing frustration that everything has gone quiet of late...even the rumours have largely dried up. Not given up hope yet though simply because we've got good form in pulling out decent transfers from seemingly nowhere. Stach was done and dusted in a few days from rumour to signing, DCL came from nowhere, and Raphinha was a last minute thing too.

After being a starting eleven player for USA in the 2002 World Cup, he was not selected this time. His play has seemingly fallen off a cliff! But he is only 23 years old, so I guess in the right situation he could rejuvenate his career. The article claims that Farke is interested. But I find that very hard to believe.
Even harder to believe he played in a World Cup before he was born :roflmao: :roflmao:

OK pal: last time: Darlow was out of contract: we did NOT let him go! He was not a Leeds United player when he joined Man U: he was a free agent! That must be the 5th time I have posted this. Maybe if you had phrased it 'We should never have let Darlow's contract run out' that would be better! And then, many on here would be up in arms that we are offering a 35 year old a new 2 year contract. You need to let this one go matey!

What we should have done is: we should have made preparatiuons for 2 goalkeepers leaving at the end of last season and sorted out replacements. A bad move on the owners part but it is not Darlow's fault. We left him without a contract and by the time we offered him one (if we did), Man U had offered him a better deal. He did not stab us in the back. He did not leave. The contract he was offered elsewhere was obviously better than anything else he was offered. There is no blame on his part.

We need LWB cover, a #10 and a #9 as far as I am concerned. U21's can cover elsewhere. We can afford to sell up to 4 players I think...

You totally took my reply out of context. The 'give your head a wobble' was in reference to Espi joining Real Madrid only. Like he would choose us over them

Darlow : i hear you but am still pissed off that LUFC board did not get him to sigh a new contract.

Bottom line is today is the 5th August and in 17 days our first match of the new season starts. Even if Trafford signs next week the current squad is not going to really improve on last seasons position. We need more quality

We also destryed Meslier's career/confidence! Put it down to inept/inexperienced people high up who do not know football as well as they should maybe? Regardless, the club is at fault not the players that left. The fact is, 2 goalkeepers we no longer wanted went to Arsenal and Man U: arguably the 1st and 3rd best clubs in England. There's a lesson in there somewhere...

I think we are definitely stronger than last season. Tarik is an upgrade on Struijk, Wilson an upgrade on any of out attcking midfielders and Trafford will be a huge upgrade on Darlow. We do need more quality in the positions we have both mentioned but I am sure they will come. We have strengthened in 2 key areas so far with a third on the way. We need to trust the process...

So you'd be prepared to offer him the same wages that Man U were offering him to be a back up? Maybe have to offer him more as likely MU could give him a bit of a guarantee that he would play cup games especially some in the Chumpions League sh*te.

For an accountant you seem very good at splashing around the cash with no thought to a budget.

Every club is in the same position, not just us. At least we haven't lost any key players.

Brighton - Van Hecke, Wellbeck
Palace - Lacroix and manager
Newcastle - Tonali, Guimaraes, Gordon
Forest - Anderson
Villa - Rogers, Digne, Tielemans
Bournemouth - manager
Everton might lose Ndaiye

There will be more incomings once the window shakes out a bit more and we’ve waved goodbye to some players. Trafford is probably the cork in the bottle - We will get a wing back a striker and possibly a number 10.

Agree with the above, it's a process (to quote Jesse) but a process spread over a few seasons, Rome wasn't built in a day :)

No we did not, stop making excuses for him. He won't even play for Arsenal it'll be Raya. Arsenal fans are known for ridiculously overhyping all their players, they're seen as a meme/joke for it. That video of his "saves" wasn't even that great
