Re: Summer transfer gossip and squad discussion

If you ignore opinions on players totally quality wise

Our squad if Gnonto leaves is.

3 goalies
2 right backs
1 left back /a right back who can fill in (left back been injured)
4 centre back (1 already injured)
2 defensive midfielder (one injured)
3 centre midfielder
1 attacking midfielder
2 left wingers
2 right wingers
2 strikers

Ignoring quality or even loses of form it would only take a few injuries for us to be down to basically nothing outside the matchday squad

We're already down to nothing outside the matchday squad, think you mean nothing much outside the first 11

Chelsea want a guaranteed minutes clause in Mudryks contract... We don't want to give that guarantee. Nor should we, it's disrespectful of the other players

There is a lot of money being thrown around this last couple of weeks.

Its going to be tough to find the right player at the right price.

Loans or another free agent may be it for us now.

Absolute madness to give guaranteed minutes.

Not a prayer we do that.

Just think it's all a bit odd.

Club briefed Beren and Simon Jones at The Mail.

Striker, full back/wing back all summer

Chased and chased Brandt for ages.

Majority of investment in attack was the line.

Then the Shea Charles saga

Now no striker, no attacking midfielder, no centre midfielder/defensive midfielder, maybe a loan of a winger if we are lucky and no full back/left back.

Yes Wilson but he's an old target.

Defence looks decent, goalie as well.

But it seems a bit scattergun.

I think we paid more for Trafford and Muha than we wanted. 55M of talent for around 75M, it means we've sniffed around for bargains ever since. We get Trafford for 30, Muha at 25 and I think Paixao is here already at 30M ...

Paixao doesn't want to leave Marseille, he's already turned us down according to French media.

Maybe we are skint? Maybe the pre season made us over confident?

But to go from what we said we wanted to getting so few of them (and seemingly not even trying to)

Strange

The Paixao thing is very odd, since he was seemingly happy to go to Sunderland last week. So either he skived out of his geography class in school, or, he's a bit mercenary and Sunderland are willing to pay him a lot more than us (most likely). We really must be skint if we're all but done on the transfer front except for Chelsea's piss-take conditional loan of Mudryk.

Difficult to see who we could get this late in the day to replace Gnonto... Cancel that flight Leeds

De Zerbi knows him, he will trust De Zerbi even if it's not specifically guaranteed I'd assume.

86.7 M to get a bit stronger in defence (maybe) and a lot stronger at keeper. no stronger in midfield or up front

Mudryk, who was desperate to come to Leeds yesterday, now only has eyes for Spurs.
