Seems an awful lot for potential, in that posiiton. Might turn into an amazing keeper but I'm glad we bought Trafford than gambled £30M+ on an 18 year old.

Yeah not saying the kid doesn't have potential but at 18 there is a lot that can go wrong and stop him living up to that potential. WOuldn't be the first 18 year old with bags of potential that disappears into oblivion.

Hhhhm smack of them cashing in by selling players and then pretending that they are trying to sign someone when really they have no intention of doing so. Smacks of when they pretended they were trying to sign Gnonto for a big fee a couple of years back. What exactly does "not fit" mean? That he has a slight amount of muscle fatigue that will clear up in a couple of weeks? Or that he actually has a serious problem? The player and his camp are saying he's fine. You might be on to something...

It's certainly a convenient way to not go through with a transfer deal.

Remember us with Cuisance and the mysterious injury - we then signed Raphinha a couple of days later. He may have failed the medical but equally we may have not liked his attitude and decided against the deal or we heard that Raphinha was available and wanted him instead.

Everton have sold a lot of players. So to placate the fans a big signing is needed. So make a big bid, make it look like you are trying and you then have your excuses all lined up - player failed the medical and there was no time left to sign anyone else.
