Serious question - are the Spurs of the last 2 seasons one of the worst teams to play in the PL?

I can think of so many better and more exciting teams than them in the Championship far more deserving of being in the PL than them

Don't know why Arteta gets regarded as some sort of great manager. Arsenal have spent an absolute fortune on players. Their reserve line-up for tonights cup tie has cost over £350m despite including 3 players that cost nothing as they cam through their ranks.

Arsenal have spent an absolute fortune under Arteta as well as having players such as Saka, and others, come through their youth system that would have cost a fortune if bought.

People say about Man City spending a fortune to win trophies but nowhere near what Arsenal have spent, especially when you see how much City have recouped through player sales in comparison to Arsenal.

By contrast the approximate combined cost of our starting line-up for the match against Newcastle on Monday, 14 September 2026, was £153 million.

And that is our strongest side (and with only Rodon out injured it wouldn't have made much difference as he would have likely replaced Elvedi or JJ so would have only raised it by a couple of million at most).

So our strongest starting line-up would cost about £155m - Arsenal's reserve line up cost over £350m.

I’d say the same about Pep. Every side he’s ever managed has been top 1 or 2 most expensive squads in the league. Plus he’s destroyed the careers of Foden, Grealish and Phillips.
