Hello all-

I am a relatively new fan- started supporting at the start of the 2023/24 season. So in short order I’ve already experienced the elation of promotion and heartbreak of coming up just short.
A little background on how this came to be. Growing up as a child of the 90s in America- many of us were introduced to the game as a youth sport. I played until High School age and then sort of became disinterested. Over the years since, I’d keep up with the Premier League here and there, but with no team to support my interest always waned. Fast forward to 2023- one of my best friends who had since moved away was in town visiting and wanted to watch the Champions League final, so I had him over and as we watched the game I realized how much I enjoyed it and wanted to continue watching games. I picked his brain on how the English Pyramid worked, and slowly became more and more infatuated. But there was one problem- I didn’t have a team to support.
I knew I didn’t want a front runner. I wanted a team with a rich history. As a life long Chicago Bears fan- I felt at home learning about the ups and downs of a once mighty franchise that had fallen from its previous heights. A team with a fan base that is loyal, passionate and ready to get back to where it belongs. Then I found the documentary, and that sealed the deal for me. I knew I had found my people. I’ve watched just about every game since, including waking up at ungodly hours on Saturday mornings, much to my wife’s utter confusion, and am now completely obsessed.

Hi all.

Been lurking for a while. Entered a team in the MOT FPL league and thought why I am I not a member of the forum itself. So joined up.

My first Leeds match as an 8 year old was Eddie Gray’s testimonial in 1979 when a Super Leeds team from the Revie era beat the Leeds team of the time 4-1. From my recollection Eddie played a half for each side. I’ve been hooked ever since.

My first season ticket was 1986/87 when under Billy Bremner we reached the FA cup semi final, which I went to and heart breakingly missed out in the playoffs.

Winning the title a few years later under Wilko was obviously fantastic but I think my favourite time as a supporter was under O’Leary and going to the European games. Went away to Prague in the UEFA cup quarter final and Milan in the Champions League the following season.

Anyway hope to contribute something useful and interesting in the years ahead. MOT

Yes born in Leeds, actually Beeston in 1970. The midwife was a mad Leeds United fan apparently. Lived in various parts of Leeds and in Whitkirk for the last 24 years.
