What do you think all the fuss is about?

Do you believe times really are changing?

Are all the recent natural disasters connected to this date?

IMO: I do believe there is truth in it. Its fascinating to see how many ancient cultures spoke of this date.
I do NOT believe its the end of the world like some religious fanatics and hollywood would have you believe though.
I would say that its a shift in energies on this planet and a time of real change and (possible) revolution.
The planets apparently align in a certain way every 26,000 years or so, and obviously this has an effect on the life inhabiting the planets involved...
According to researchers, we are moving into a femine age (energy) - the age of aquarius, which is going to replace the current dominant male energy...

I never believed this before, but in recent years, the more i look around, I have come to the conclusion that what researchers have been talking about for years (some of them since the late 19th century!) could in fact be real.

Holly wood has you believe that the end of the world is nigh. Also, according to some the Mayans predicted the end of the world in 2012. The truth is, nowt will happen on that date! The Mayan prophecies are just the end of the long count calendar. Yes we are entering into the age of Aquarius, but the most significant event is the Galactic alignment. Even NASA has acknowledged the event and confirm it is happening. Will the be catastrophe? Who knows. However, the global warming will get worse, yet will fade after 2012 and the planet back to normal in around 2015 or so, according to the Mayans.

My scientific view on this would be that when the moon is in the Seventh House and Jupiter aligns with Mars, then peace will guide the planets and love will steer the stars.

This will ultimately result in the dawning of the age of Aquarius, I repeat, age of Aquarius.

I was also watching a documentary on history channel i think, and the experts interviewed said the moon is moving further and further away from the earth and in a few thousand years, the earth would be without the moon altogether.
Pretty interesting....
I wonder how life on earth without the moon would be like? Surfers would be pretty bleak

If the moon does drift away from the Earth, that means Earth's gravity is decreasing, as that is what the moon's orbit depends on. (So we were taught in astronomy class at school). So if we get to the stage where the moon floats off, then all life forms on this planet will do likewise!

If the moon does drift away from the Earth, that means Earth's gravity is decreasing, as that is what the moon's orbit depends on. (So we were taught in astronomy class at school). So if we get to the stage where the moon floats off, then all life forms on this planet will do likewise!

Maybe in a billion years or so. The moon is moving away, but at about a CM a year, it's going to take billions of years before it finally breaks free of the earths gravitational pull and even if it ever does the gravity ON the surface of the Earth will still be enough to stop us floating off the planet.

The gravity and orbit of each body misaligns the orbit of the other causing the Earth to 'wobble' on it's orbital path. (Some scientists still define us as a planet/satellite system however, due to the barycentre of the orbits being within the confines of the Earth.)

Also of grave concern, naturally, is what will happen to all the werewolves?

As for 21st December 2012, I fully expect a lot of people to feel extremely silly when they awake the following day.

According to some definitions, yes. There are 4 other natural bodies that have synchronous orbits with the Earth and orbit in a horseshoe pattern and are considered 'quasi satellites'.

They are Cruithne, 54509YORP, 85700 (1998) UP, and 2009BD. Just roll off the tongue, don't they?
