We weren't saying that when we beat the scum, or when we drew 2-2 with Tottenham away, or when Arsenal were saved by an extra time dive which should of never been given. We beat Wolves 3-1, sure they're bottom but if we can beat teams like that then we can stay up. And that's the first step in regaining our Place in the top flight after promotion. We will see what happens, but I'm sure Grayson can sort the defence and midfield with the money we get from promotion. We will see. Believe.

I sorry Aussie i don't agree with you, yes the cup runs were great achievements but our players couldn't sustain the same workrate as they showed at the Emirates throughout a season as proved at the KC, Liberty Stadium & at Bramall Lane on Saturday where our players looked knackered & were clueless tbh.
Class prevailed with both Arsenal & Spurs in the replays at ER, the Gunners totally outclassed us as expected as far as i was concerned, the level between the premiership & Championship is immense :!: Folk go on about Blackpool who have been a breathe of fresh air but you only have to look at the table they are in a relegation battle as they are only 3 points off the bottom club now
Anyone who thinks we will spend money should we reach the premiership are living in cloud cuckoo-land  I would rather be near the top of the top of the championship enjoying a large % of matches than watch my team being battered most weeks in the premier. Apart from 6 or 7 shockers, we have been thoroughly entertained this season even if it has been edge of the seat stuff :!:
Mind you i enjoyed League One :o

While I agree that you cannot use a few cup matches to judge how competitive you would be in a league, playing at that level week in and week out, I believe we will spend some money. Maybe we won't spend millions but we'll spend enough to at least consolidate a spot in the premier league.

And I'd rather be in the bottom half of the premier league than the top half of the championship.

Oh yeah, it would be great going to games watching us lose every match.

Top of the Championship rather than down the bottom of Premiership every time for me.

Tbh the thought of how much i personally will have to spend to watch my beloved Leeds in the premiership is a frightening financial prospect Harry, the championship is expensive enough, i suspect i will be selecting my away matches although i'll want to go them all :!:

There's always that Leon, but for us downunder, we'll be able to watch Leeds every week as all the EPL games are live on telly here. You get a 'viewer's choice' for the Saturday 3pm games.

So, what you are saying is that Simon and Ken have done the right thing in not purchasing a defensive central midfielder and a more solid defence in order that we do not secure automatic promotion?

Fair enough. But the idea is, we go up now, build on the team for a few years until we move up the premier league. We have to start somewhere. It wont be easy, and we will lose against big clubs, and it will be embarassing. But we will improve. Maybe in 5-10 years time we could be back in Europe.. Or we could just be another championship team..

Teams like Man City and Chelsea are far better teams than us as they have all the money the managers want, but if we did get into the prem I would see no reason why we couldnt beat them on our day, or lose 5-0 on a off day. When we get promoted itll be teams like Stoke and Birmingham we will be competing with and just hope for the best against the top teams

I feel it's like the chicken or egg . I wouldn't be to happy paying prem tkt prices when we 2-3 down by half time. The first few games I'm sure we would be up for it .However to do it week in week out . I don't think so .
I'm the tkt prices will rise and Grayson will be handed 2 million to spend in the summer if we are promoted .
After watching the Chelsea and City game it's totally a different class. Yes I agree the coaches I must of seen 4-5 coaches on City bench.
We have to start somewhere it's where .

Surely 5 million at least would be made available or we would be wasting our time,

I hate to say this 5 million would be a insult the prem is worth 50 million min to each club. I know this going draw attention unless we spend the cash on 4 -5 class players we are wasting our time . This is only my opinion

Surely, if we are all happy to remain in this division for another year, why do we all go off the rails when we lose (WR excepted
?) I'm happy for a plan to stay down to be put into effect, starting now.

We have to make sure there is no possible chance of promotion then, starting with a good hammering from Forest ( we wouldn't want to sneak in the playoff on goal difference, knowing our luck we'd win the semi 1-0 with the crossbar saving us on numerous occasions and a last minute own goal with their keeper falling over a back pass and seeing us through, only for our final opponents to field 6 loan players and de-fault the final and give us promotion)

So c'mon Burnley Portsmouth and Reading. C'mon Forest, Swansea and Cardiff. We're not ready to go up just yet!

oh and if you could take it easy on us next year (all those in the football league championship,) cause we'd like to go up then really.....

We need to get out of this league ASAP!

You've seen what happens to Leeds over the years, we don't do mid-table.. we just dont.

It's either Relegation Scrap, Play off or chasing 2nd.

Leeds are so unpredictable, completly diffrent to any other team in Europe i think.

We need to get out of here now really, we don't want to be one of those teams that just stick in the championship for years and years and years. I'd rather be a mid table Premier league side for years and years instead.
