Little Brighton have shifted 17,000 season tickets

Post by 1964white »

Always had good support at the Goldstone ground years ago, going to be different to playing in front of 7000 fans in a athletics stadium

Another club on the up !

Judas poyet will be offered a job at a 2nd rate prem club and leave mid season. Now WHERE have I heard that before?
As to the ST's - how come they didn't sell that many last season? We did, in Lg1! Glory seeking sussex tossers. Got a new stadium and more debt and it's like they are in the CL! Will they be there next season when they go straight back down?

I think that its commendable they have sold so many ST's. New ground and Championship footy, they are up and coming.
they probably will sell more ST's than us but we will still have the biggest crowds every saturday.
Leeds is in my blood, always will be.

Because they were playing at Withdean Stadium that has a capacity of around 8000

They will do okay in the championship as the romped L1 just as Norwich did & look where the ambitious Canaries are now !

My Mrs is from Sussex btw

The Withdean never sold out once in it's history, except when Leeds fans were there.
My mum's cousin was Brighton goalie years ago (Brian Powney) and he hates the glory seeking prats who have suddenly emerged, and are "covering their scum shirts with seagull ones"...

8000 plus attendances v Huddersfield, Southampton & Sheffield Wednesday. Most other games between 7000 & 7800

So there attendances were 10% below capacity, where as ER is generally 25% to 30% below capacity

The Withdean is a awful ground to watch football especially in the winter months, view not very good too !

Yet another thread in which 64 has a pop at LUFC management. Brighton - who cares [apart from 64]?

What is the debate here. It's a new stadium. Of course ST sales will go well. They would have done well in L1. If we stuck another tier on the West Stand over the summer, we'd sell it out every game (with ticket prices the same). People like new things. Remember the warm feeling as we wandered around The Emirates for the first time

It would seem 17 others do as they have replied to the thread

Not a pop, just an observation about a team managed by Poyet who was at ER

Yes I do start threads that are sometimes controversial to get a response
