i dont know much about Paul Rachubka, but i know he was Simon's #1 during his time at Blackpool and was ever-present in their promotion season... so how bad can he be?

And i dare say he would be on a FRACTION of the wage of Kasper..

You can say what you like about Ken Bates, but there is no way he's looking to make the wage bill SMALLER, is there? he's obviously trying to make room for other players....

Given, Upson, O'Brien have a combined age of about 150 (give or take a few ).... that would make me sad, and feel like i supported a club where everyone else goes to retire....

Kisnorbo is the man for us! and i persobally hope the young fella Lees comes good and represents HIS club proudly... along with Bromby, O'Brien, Parker, White, Howson, Smith, and Montgomery... and of course, Grayson, Snodin, and Miller...

Lees is nowhere NEAR good enough for our first team yet.

Howson needs to go on loan to learn to lose his cloak of invisibility for 70% of his games.

Montgomery is a waste of space who turned us down last summer.

Snoddy is a shadow of his league one performances.

Ross and Becchio won't work. Either of them with Somma would.

I obviously dont know THAT much about him.... but when i was working in the UK one of my closest friends was a Blades fan, and when it looked like he was coming in LAST season, this mate of mine was telling me how perfect he would be for us, and how sad he would be to see him leave them. I played with this guy in the Butlins team, and i always respected what he had to say about football. He said that he was a great team player, and he worked hard.... and because we have constantly been linked with him, i quite often go and have a sneaky look on "NewsNow Sheffield United" to see how he's been going...

And personally, if he supported us as a boy, Simon likes him, he fits the mould of "all-round tackling midfielder".... and he's being flogged on the cheap because Sheffield United want him off the wage bill.. AND we could get rid of Billy Paynter in the process.......... well, i'm yet to see a negative..

and just to clear things up, PERSONALLY, i think Billy Paynter is an ok squad player and his injury at the start of the season didnt do him any good.... BUT! i think we could do a lot better, and if Billy left, we would be forced in to finding someone else... maybe someone with some pace!!!

and Snoddy has always been a good player for us... everyone's got a big fat for Paul Lambert, and guess what?! He wants him, so he MUST be good

Howson is one of our best players and our Captain, Twiggs. Wake up to yourself. He's been forced in to playing the role of 2 people since Kilkenny became a starting player. Now that he's gone, and we hopefully get someone LIKE Montgomery in, Howson will flourish.. i am absolutely certain of this.

Lees has played 100 games already, and he's only 21... he was Bury's SECOND BEST player last season (behind their top striker), and scored 4 or 5 goals in the process, and they got promoted. If he's not ready now, i fail to see when he'll ever be ready. All fans and coaching staff at Bury love him, and he's ours! so get him in there!

By all reports, Montgomery was within a bees dick of signing with us last term, but wanted to stay loyal to Sheffield United, the only club he's ever played for. I respect him for that. The only reason he's a chance of coming this time is because Blades want rid of him...

Snoddy is a little slow, and a little unfit.. but he's always good and he's one of ours... anytime he is interviewed you can tell how much he cherishes playing for this club... The same club Bremner, Gray, Strachan, and McAllister played for... (other Scots)

And i'm pretty sure the last reports re Westwood was that we were making a late enquiry about him and that he is yet to sign with anyone..... Craig Gordon, Sunderland's #1, is the most expensive Goalkeeper in the premiership! he's had some injury problems but he's a great player... why would Westwood go there and have to fight for his place?

blah blah blah blah blah..... My point was it's not all about big wages and flashy skills, or individual great players like Frings and Zenden, it's about the bloody team!!! How is a pair of 35 year olds, one a Dutchman and one a German, gonna effect team spirit.... no thanks!

Howson isn't good enough to polish Frings' or Zenden's boots - no matter how old they are, they would show him up as the limited player he is should they be signed.
Lees was "Bury's 2nd best player"??? WHAT a reason that he would be great for us now, FFS! A SECOND best Bury player - we need BETTER than that at Leeds!
