Any news on the injuries front

Are O'Brien, Snoddy, Kisnorbo, fit enough for a run out ?

For all my negativity about our current team with the injuries/lack of signings/etc

I think we could sneak a result v the Toon today, they are a week behind in their pre-season training so you never know, a win means nothing really ! How we start at Southampton will be the important factor for the season

Thoroughly enjoyed this match today. Loads of action, goals and chances and some excellent Leeds performances.

First and foremost, it was a joy to see Paddy back and to see that he has not lost an ounce of skill during his long lay-off. He and Ob were immense in the cb positions and had a very good understanding between themselves. Bromby, when he came on, was rather less impressive though, which does not bode well if we lose either to injury. I didn't really see enough of Bodor (Son of Frodo, son of Dildo) to make any worthwhile judgement. Tom Lees seemed to do ok, but you could see the massive change in our vulnerability when Paddy and Ob were subbed.
In right back Connoly did a solid job without really catching the eye at any point, but overall I would be happy to see him maintain his place there for the coming season. Parker at left back was very disappointing. LB is probably our only position I feel nervous about after watching the lads today.
Midfield-wise, I cannot fault anyone at all. The central pairing of Brown and Clayton was fantastic, and I don't use that word lightly. They both chased down, got in some brilliant tackles (One from Brown made a little bit of poo come out for his opponent though). Clayton IMO was the better of the two. He has really come on since we last saw him.
Wingers - Snoddy and Gradel - I don't think I really need to say anything other than their names to give you an idea of how they played today. Howson, playing just behind the front man, had an amazing game. Half the time you just forgot he was on the pitch, he just seemed to go into stealth mode, after which he would pop out of nowhere and skip through 3-4 players before laying off a perfect pass, or he would crop up near goal and come within inches of scoring on several occasions.
Replacements were Sam, who got a lucky goal through sheer tenacity and spirit, did well. Seemed he was more the player we saw at the start of last season again. Mendy (Who I would swear blind is a Tim Burton creation - Think Jack from Nightmare Before Christmas) showed some nice skills but didn't get a huge amount of time on the ball, which suggests to me his positional play is a little suspect. Nunez showed heart but not much else in the short time he played.
Up front McCormack did ok, but shied away from challenges and let the defenders bully him off the ball. May have showed more if he were given balls to run onto. Paynter got a goal!!! Unfortunately, that's about the only thing he got right all match.

Last but not least, our keeper. Lonergan made a couple of superb saves and seemed to have a very good understanding with Paddy and Ob. Their first goal he could do nothing about, culpability lay with Parker as he went AWOL and lost his man, giving him an uncontested shot on goal. The second goal for Toon was just a damn good goal, which Lonergan also came close to saving with his left leg.

So, I'll try to now give some ratings. Wish me luck....
