Re: Leeds v Bradford
Ross McCormack is a far better player than he gets credit for on here
In my opinion better than becchio
Stop screaming I'm not crazy
I rate becchio but the runs and touches from McCormack are a different class
He is a proper striker he only wants to shoot from 30 yards out and closer
Play him with becchio when fit and see a different player
His game is not a lone front man but he does his best
Next option is Paynter and I'd rather eat a dead scum fan than ever see him play again

Re: Leeds v Bradford
Bradford gave it there all but we was too good for them.
Shakey starts, but deserved the win. LOADS of Championship teams got knocked out tonight, so it was always gonna be tough.
Nice win!!! Should kick start us now, McCormack look's full of confidence now and Nunez look's like a player that's going to become even more amazing than he is.
ON TO BORO NOW, COME ON LEEDS!

Sorry to put a downer on things after a win but just read the post about Obrien been better and Parker
They both look terrible and that's against league 2 players
God help us if they start at weekend
Agree with the clayton point
Gonna be a star
Brown pointless showing again
Lees is in the same bracket as clayton
Jury out on Nunez and Sam still
Steady games against Bradford don't make them first names on team sheet

Match report from an arm chair:
Lonergan - 6 - did what he had to do. My first choice keeper.
Connolly - 6 - Did Ok put in a good cross, got in to their second half. Shaking the rust of still with the look of it.
Obrien - 5 - I think this might be his last match for a while, got turned, got out paced, looked in pain.
Paddy - 6 - Did ok, dont remember any mistakes as such, kept thinking he was going to pull up any second with an injury. Bust his nose!
Parker - 6 - But barely earned his "6" Was at fault for their first goal, occasionally question his intelligence and positioning sense?? Thought he was going off in the first ten minutes after he got clattered. Proud to see him play.
Sam: 7 - Great effort, looks strong this season, a bit one dimensional in his approach.
Brown: 5 - are you kidding me? Seemed to float around playing really slow simple passes, whatever he was doing... I did not see. Or understand. Is he some kind of sniper anchor man??
Clayton: 9 - Ran the show, He's here, he's there he's every fecking where! Passing, brilliant, drive, brilliant, Put in some storming tackles.
Howson: 6 - That is all.
Nunez: 8 - Wizard. Snoddy should be dropped till he gets off his ass and puts some real effort in to his game. Ramon had it all, rarely lost possession, moved like water, this lad if we can get the ball to him is going to work some serious magic this season. Could of had a hat trick.
Ross: 7 - Played crap in the first half, after his goal which was a SWEET header (thats how you do it paynter) confidence fuled him, started ice skating with the ball and hitting shots, after his goal we saw the real Ross start to come through. a confidence player.
Tom lees - 6 - Came on, set up ross goal. Over AOB a the moment, i would give this lad the nod poor old andy is looking in pain.
Bromby - 5 - ?
thompson came on late???

Re: Leeds v Bradford
Ross works hard, and i agree that he needs a chance to play next to Luciano in a 4-4-2...
My thoughts for the evening are as follows;
I was willing to give Andy O'Brien a chance after Saturday, and tonight was that chance... and he was rubbish again.. Lees looks class and didnt give the ball away once (I've been singing his praises all summer :nahnah: )... and even Bromby looked far more composed on the ball than AOB OR Connolly...
I think Ben Parker started off shakey, and obviously he was at fault for the opening goal, but by the end of the game he'd made some important tackles, he didnt give the ball away, and he made a few runs in to the box... i still think he'll only get better with more game time... I'm not writing him off just yet.
Adam Clayton was rightly the man of the match.. he was IMMENSE! tracking back, getting forward, keeping possession... Jonny was his normal self.. working hard for the team....
I think Michael Brown will get better... he was non existant in the first half, and i admit that he only started to put himself in to the game when Bradford got tired, BUT! when he was on the ball he looked composed, and maybe, HOPEFULLY, a bit of possession and a few good touches will have done him some good.
Nunez was ok.. right place right time.. i still think he lacked that bit of quality at vital times in the first half...
Lloyd Sam is an excellent squad player
So what do you all think the back 4 will be on Saturday?
I'd love it to be the same back 4 that ended the game today...

Lonegran - 5 kicking is awful
Connolly 1 pure s**t
Obrein - unrated as i cant be bothered to
Kisnorbo -6 will get better when he gets fitter
parker -4
Brown 5 didnt do much
Clayton 9 hope he can show this performance in the championship
Howson- 5 absent
Sam -8 good wing play
nunez-8 greedy but very talented player
Mccormack 7 did well when we played the ball on the ground needs to play alonside becchio
Grayson 1 still defensively shocking and look like conceding goals, long ball isnt gonna work with a small striker is it

Re: Leeds v Bradford
Your missing the point about Nunez guys it takes skill to get in the right place at the right time, Sam has lost his edge IMO, he does not seem to be as quick and does the same thing.
Clayton is one of SG success stories at the moment.
Parker is not good enough at all fed up of saying this, not sure what Brown did.....
Ross is Like Beckford HE CANT PLAY A LONE STRIKER ROLE.. fed up of saying this....
Howson is not cutting it at the moment for me...

Re: Leeds v Bradford
Nunez did well, but he did come up with about 4 wayward passes, missed that goal at the beginning, and twice tried to step on to his right foot when he should have just had a pop with his left... I was very frustrated with him in the first half.
I dont understand people's criticism of Howson, though... He linked up well with the Clayton and played Nunez and Sam in plenty of times...
I wonder if Simon will have the balls to pick Lees and Bromby on Saturday...
Might be O'Dea - Kisnorbo - Bromby - Lees... ?

Re: Leeds v Bradford
going to be another boring, goal lacking season supported by a bunch of over positive fans!!!!!
not a very good performance but only 4 of starting 11 fully fit. for saturday howson should drop back with clayton, snoddy to play off macca with nunez and gradel wide. defence wise just chuck the fittest 4 in and hope for the best.
lonergon
connoly kis brom o'dea
howson clayton
nunez snoddy gradel
macca.

Re: Leeds v Bradford
Got to disagree with the paddy line
I don't think he is fully fit so that's stopping him been the player he was but I believe 3-4 more games he will be back at top level
I also feel that he is dropped in it by Ob and Parker plus new keeper may take some getting used to

Paddy looks like the only guy in our team that can win a header!! Dunno how you can say he didnt look up for it?
Certainly once Bromby and Lees came on, the defense looked pretty solid..

No matter what your saying we have conceded 5 goals in two games, ask the question... what has changed since last season...
new keeper and paddy... we all seem to agree keeper not at fault what are we left with

and without Andy O'Brien on the pitch we've conceded zero.
Paddy has nothing to do with it... It's clear to see who's at fault for every one of our goals so far, and Paddy doesnt get a mention...

In the case of Ob, totally effing sh1te to just sh1te is still an improvement.
Parker showed a huge step up from before to 'passable'.
I'm not exactly screaming for them to be thrown into the England squad. Thrown AT them, maybe, but not in the the team.
Brown had a quiet but fairly effective game in my eyes. Nothing to make me stand up and yell his name in glee, but a long way from pointless.
I agree that Nunez and Sam have not yet done enough to oust Snoddy and Max from the wings, but it's nice to know we have players who can come off the bench and perform.

Re: Leeds v Bradford
get serious would you... were you even watching the games... ?
Andy didnt push up and pressure Hammond for the first goal, he got turned inside out by llalana for the second goal, and he got nudded through his legs by Llalana for the third... he was at fault for all three goals...
Tonight, Ben Parker was at fault for the first one obviously, but then the second one it was Andy O'brien AGAIN who couldnt keep up and Flynn scored his goal on the right side, Andy's side...
Kisnorbo has had his area covered the entire time...
I have nothing against Andy O'Brien and i've been saying all summer that i thought he would form a good partnership with Paddy, but the simple fact is that he's been responsible for almost every goal we've conceded
