Wonder if Grayson has ever told Bates, you get what you pay for.

He has already shown several times that he is capable of turning things round after bad runs. Comparing him to Lambert is ridiculous as Lambert inherited a championship side that had just been poorly managed. His lower league signings were not unknown freebies but the likes of £1m Simeone Jackson who was a proven lower league scorer. Likewise comparing him to Adkins is ridiculous as Southampton have had huge cash from the selling of a couple of youngsters plus already had the prolific Lambert at the club. When they were relegated to League 1 despite administration they were able to keep their players so, like Norwich, were a championship side already who were just poorly managed. Likewise West Ham have a team full of prem players.
Just because someone like Clayton has a few good matches doesn't mean he is a seasoned pro who is going to be able to play to a consistent level week in, week out. Likewise all the rest of our players who are similar - apart from the keeper we have 3 or 4 (Howson, Snodgrass, Becchio and Connolly) players who have been consistently played in the championship in the last year and a half - out of those players Howson and Snodgrass are now both out, Becchio has been struggling and Connolly is in it would appear as we have no one better (and couldn't sign anyone better that was free). The expectancy does not match the reality of the squad SG has managed too somehow assemble on a shoe string. SG has had them punching above their weight for a season and a half - and saying he should have bought better is laughable given that he is shopping for bargains at Primark that no one else wanted.

I wish you well Simon Grayson and always have.
You have more FA qualifications than anyone we've had in years.
You claim to have supported Leeds since you were a lad.
You are in the unfortunate position of working for a w**ker.
You got us promoted, "thank you"
You have wheeled and deal'd without much success apart from Max, Eric and Clayton
You are now a victim of the regime under Bates although you are wavering in your own undoing.
You must now get your team to beat Burnley and find form not seen since the remembrance of the late Gary Speed.
You have only one option, "Sort it or f**k off".............."We are Leeds" and don't ever forget it !

My heart say's no, my head say's yes. He has chosen these players and these players looking at the team sheet should not be having these problems. what i cannot forgive grayson for is the way he treats some players, like leigh bromby, yes he had a shocker against brighton but he has never seen the first team since, yet kisnorbo seems to be forever at fault yet plays every week making the same frickin mistakes. But i also believe that he is a very good young manager that will learn from his mistakes. So i will be gutted if he gets the chop, but also a little relieved, even though that sounds daft.

I've kept out of this one, but my opinion is if we lose tomorrow, he will be on his way, I hope we win, but doubt it very much

Re: Should Grayson go now ? YES or NO
If the players have quit on SG (as Jo's latest thread suggests), then YES.
If not, then NO.
None of us can say for sure what's happening behind closed doors. However, I would hope Bates and Harvey can get a clear read of the inside situation and act accordingly.
If it's come to the point where Grayson's dalliances and his relationship(s) with the players have caused a schism in the club, then he needs to go ASAP. But if it's a case of Simon doing the best he can without adequate financial support. then a managerial change will only make the situation worse (because the next manager will be confronted w/ the same problem as SG -- trying to make due with an owner who has a lower max salary cap than his top competitors and expects his manager to find diamonds in the rough via free/low cost transfers and loan deals.
Oh, 64, please count my vote as I Don't Know Enough To Say For Sure (not Undecided)

Re: Should Grayson go now ? YES or NO
I am the eternal optimist and very loyal by nature, but I now feel the time is right for SG to go. Something has gone seriously wrong within the team, accepting that the loss of Snoddy and Howson will have and effect, but I am watching a team who have at times played stunning football this season, and have been cited by a number of teams as being the best team to visit their club rapidly unravel, and apparently turn into craven and disinterested footballers, and that cannot be tolerated. I like Grayson, but our team need the impetus that a new manager could bring to the club, especially the bringing in of someone with a good tactical reputation, please don't ask me who! I feel it will have to be soon too, or any new manager will be saddled with another manager's signings. Sorry Simon, it's time to go, albeit with my thanks for the past few seasons.

Re: Should Grayson go now ? YES or NO
NO - and for 2 reasons:
Reason 1: no matter what happens this year, it is VERY UNLIKELY that were going to get relegated this year so worst case scenario we give him the rest of the year and end up in this division this time next year... which it is also very unlikely we go up in the first place so we have nothing to lose
Reason 2: the last time we had a bad patch like this was the back end of our promotion season out of league1, and guess what? he sorted it out. I strongly believe he will sort this out, its just very unfortunate with the injuries we have at this time in howson and snodgrass... they are our 2 best players, any team would suffer as a result of losing their 2 best players.
We all just need to keep the faith, if it doesnt happen this year just believe because it will happen eventualy and Grayson is definately the man to bring us up

Re: Should Grayson go now ? YES or NO
I think if we lost today the fans would have forced him out. But those three points will be crucial and I hope have kept him in a job. Give him untill the end of the season and see what he can do, if we can finish in the top 6 comfortably then he will have a chance at taking us into next season where the pressure will be really on. If we struggle into the playoffs or worse then I think he will be shown the door in the summer which is fair. Id just like to give him one more shot, we fupped up last season and I hope he learned something from that, which could prove crucial in our promotion push.

this would be a mistake...he's bought himself time by fluking a win...so he might as well stay till the summer
