"One or two players have played their last games for me"

Post by normangunston »

The Burnley teamsheet suggests these would be Paul Connolly, Andy Keogh, and Mika Varynen.

Let's add a RB to our transfer window shopping list...

Connolly is a bit of a nothing player IMO, he doesn't do much wrong but he's not going to make an impact on a game.

I wish Kisnorbo was one of those, he really is done.

Connolly's only virtue is he's a specialist RB and occasionally worked very well with Snoddy. But I think it's fair to say Eric Lichaj offered a hell of a lot more in his loan spell last year.

I've got a lot of affection for Paddy, but he doesn't seem a Championship-quality player anymore.

Keogh was alright but for what Wolves apparently wanted for him and his likely salary it wasn't worth it.

Really I think someone needs to tell Grayson that the 4-5-1/4-3-3 works best. I don't remember when we last played 4-4-2 and looked a good team. It makes us look even worse at the back than we already are, and blunts our attacking threat.... the goals seem to have dried up unfortunately, which was always going to leave us in bother.

A defence coach is something I've been calling for, for as long as I can remember. Some of the defenders we've signed were good on paper and promptly turned into Sunday league players. Can't just be a co-incidence, surely?

Thought it was a bit of a stupid comment to be honest, especially when Keogh's loan ended anyway. Problem is until you sell those players you never know when you might need them and can't be good for the spirit in the dressing room with that hanging over your heads.

Isn't that one of the "known" problems Grayson has right now?

He does seem to have a real knack of alienating players who aren't in his favourite group (i.e Snodgrass, Howson etc). It was the same at Blackpool, he had favourites and they could do no wrong, but those outside it at times faced similar "motivating" things like Grayson has done here. Not really the sign of a good manager...

Right now I don't see Connolly as an issue? would be nice to get in someone better but for me, CB, CM and cover for the wings is a far more pressing concern.
Every game I predict a 3 - 1 Leeds win, I am traditional like that.

I was thinking they'd all played their last game for Grayson , unless he was planning on signing them in his next job . He could take Brown , Rachubka and Paynter with him if & when he goes .
