He's a massive Leeds United Fan, and this is his 2nd full season playing in the Championship with the team he loves, yes just his 2nd! with a chance of going to the Premier League with the team he loves.

Why the hell.. would you even consider going to Norwich, i thought Howson was better than that.. He's gone for the money.

This is Howson's biggest mistake of his career.. What a risk, Norwich are not safe.. Hull did exactly the same thing as them and we're still relegated.

This should make us even more determined to go up and watch Bradley and Jonny go back down to where they belong.

When I went to that sporting bet competition last year, I remember howson being asked a transfer question and he answered it with a "smith went because we needed the money" I didnt pay much gorm to it but when i think back it was kind of a way of saying "I got my eye on the prem"

In fairness to Howson he hasn't said I want to leave and I want to go to Norwich,it seems they are the only team to put an acceptable offer in,and he as to agree things.The possibility of them coming back down may enter into his thoughts and he may say no and see what is offered by other clubs at the end of the season.

Strangely enough, they appear to be clubs who's owners have foresight and ambition and pride in said clubs to gain promotionand success through the squad and NOT in the building of lovely big comfy stadiums that can be sold at a prime in a few years!

Clearly Lambert believes he can get the best out of Howson! I've never said that Howson doesn't have the quality, he just doesn't show it enough. Can you honestly say Grayson can get the best out of him coz he's had long enough!

I dont understande the all of a sudden Howson wankfest going on! It wasn't too long ago that everyone was using Jonny as a scapegoat for everything, and now everyone seems to think he is Lionel Messi! Players come and go......thats football! My opinion is that its a good deal for club!

From what I've heard and seen Howson has definitely improved during his time with Grayson. I think he was in the process of getting the best out of him and I doubt he has reached his peak yet.

And I don't see any evidence of a sudden turning of opinion on Howson's ability or consistency. The only posters on this forum that I can recall having doubts about him are you and Twiggs. When was everyone turning against him and using him as a scapegoat? I don't recall that. Every player has a bad game once in a while, but I don't think Howson has underperformed.

So Howson wants to play premier-league football and he doesn't think he's going to get it with us. A worrying assessment as he'll know more than us about what's going on. What angers me most is that yet again the club has not done enough to retain one of our best players. The problem is this can just snowball. Gradel goes and we don't strengthen. Howson is witness to this and sees the lack of ambition/resources and also decides to go. Now other players see Howson going so what are they going to be thinking about? I can't see how this can be considered to be the best thing that has happened this year or season.

If we get Delph, I bet Bates will say that was funded by the sale of Howson. Then what happens next season when Delph goes back to his parent club?

Bates will sell before going into Admin. He has too much to lose by having a second Admin down to him. However selling your better players is not - to me - an indicator of selling the club either as these are the only tangible assets LUFC has.

It seems to me he has fucked up big time with Caddick and his corporate box folly. He has suddenly been very quiet on progress of the works, sales of the new boxes, and additionally he has admitted that there has been extra works added to the scope of work such as the LUFC Museum. The sale of the likes of Howson has to me the smack of a very large contractors payment scheduled very shortly for which he cannot cover from either the finance bank loan or from match day revenue.

I know I've said the wage structure and live within our means is sensible, but I'm beginning to wonder if I'm wrong about the faith in this system. As let's face it, if we come out of January with Snodgrass, Clayton, Becchio and White still on the books we'll be lucky.

I bet they're weeping and wailing on waccoe the home of 'Howson's invisible/only in the team cos he's from Leeds'. Funny how our poor players, Howson, BJ end up in the Prem and end up being used, as poor as they are, to beat up Bates!

Beyond that, what's to say . We have sold our best player, our captain. This is something you don't do. We have though, presumably because we need the money now [the early renewal suggests that we do] or we are not prepared to let another one walk away for free [BJ/Beckford] or a combination of both. Am I upset - yes [Howson should have been our future]. What am I going to do about it - nothing I can do except turn up on Saturday. Fortunately I have an extremely high pain threshold so I will cope.

What I would say is that we could really do with a manager who can give us a lift - someone with personaility and a plan. I have supported Grayson as much as anyone apart from his nephews [silky/weasel] who see only genius and I will continue to do so but we could do with a lift and that requires the right man. Saying that we are 3 points from the play offs so Larry may yet pull the rabbit out of the hat. If he does I will salute him.
