I had a bet with myself who would post that topic title, when the news came thru! Had a feeling it would be Doc or Gino.

Here's what he can do.

Oh and this one, he scores the 2nd goal.

Re: Smith signs!!!!!!!
season long loan....I get confused with the loan thing,,,is this a three month loan? Or does it actually mean season long including playoffs. if it's season long then what's the deal with the Delph loan, I assumed that was a month so we could re-new to take it past the playoffs.
also recall clause added to the Smith deal?

Evidently he also provides the assist for the 1st, seems to like that long shot :DToby wrote: Oh and this one, he scores the 2nd goal.

Re: Smith signs!!!!!!!
A second good attacking full-back would complement Pugh and Snoddy quite nicely I think.
Though as always, those two goals could well have come after Johnson-esque wastefulness!

I meant that Smith provides the second attacking full-back with White being the first.Dr.Leeds wrote:Aidy White anyone?
Forgot about Rodgers too, could mean that we can play 4-5-1 with Pugh holding and Clayton and Delph forward
Not that it'll happen, but I think it'd make the best use of our resources at the moment...

I think Larry'll stick with the 442 unfortunately. But your way sounds much better. If 442 is the way SG goes then I hope that Pugh is a bench player due to his versatility.Genghers wrote:Forgot about Rodgers too, could mean that we can play 4-5-1 with Pugh holding and Clayton and Delph forward

He does love it, despite the fact that everyone can see we play the best football (and defend best) in the 4-5-1.rand3ll wrote:I think Larry'll stick with the 442 unfortunately. Pugh being benched is a good call, especially now that there's only 5 subs allowed. Hope he goes back to White at LB tonight, the pace he gives down the flank is a nice balance to Pugh.

Re: Smith signs!!!!!!!
we've paid good money for Pugh and he's a good player. must start for me
as a matter of interest do we know the biggest amount paid for a player since admin?

Where would you play him? We've also just signed Rodgers, and Grayson said he'll be part of the starting line up once he's found his feet. Suggests that either Pugh will drop to LB and White sub, or Pugh in the holding role?faaip wrote:we've paid good money for Pugh and he's a good player. must start for me

Re: Smith signs!!!!!!!
Decent signing, looks like one that we may turn permanent if things go well.
According to Duncan Castles on Twitter we have an option to buy, but he's also out of contract at the end of the season.
Good luck to him, hope he solves a few problems and we start to see the new look Leeds United for 2012/2013.

Re: Smith signs!!!!!!!
we can't get em all in the 11, Makes no sense paying (what was it?) 500k? and not playing him. if we're a short of money as we are told then our "big" signing must start.....Rogers on the bench for a few games till he gets up to speed. Pugh left back for me,Genghers wrote: Where would you play him? We've also just signed Rodgers, and Grayson said he'll be part of the starting line up once he's found his feet. Things will unfold and find their natural rhythm.
WE''RE LEEDS UNITED, WE''LL NEVER BE DEFEATED!
Paul Green was warnobs best signing.
If you disagree please send me a PM so we can get in to a fight.

I think he's more solid at LB than White, though not sure about Aidy playing as a full-on winger. We'll have to see how it goes once everyone's fit enough to play.faaip wrote:we can't get em all in the 11, Makes no sense paying (what was it?) 500k? and not playing him. if we're a short of money as we are told then our "big" signing must start.....Rogers on the bench for a few games till he gets up to speed. Don't reckon we'll be seeing Sam again anytime soon though with so many options on the wing...
