Spot on!!LuFc MoT wrote:I wish Simon all the best!
Watch him do really well at a club who's chairman has ambition and a Transfer Budget greater than a 12 year old's lunch money.

I'm with you on the talent in the squad, I think under a manager with proven motivational skills, although I think it could only be a good upper-mid-table squad. It seems we have a slapdash style of motivated players, 2-3 motivated every week, then the next week it could be a different 2-3, but certainly no cohesion. That could be argued against by saying claiming late goals, but honestly, I think we may just have one of the actual fittest, (in terms of stamina) teams in this league. It's glaringly obvious we need someone with some skill, leadership & experience at the back though.dezzy wrote:We have got talent in this squad, Grayson had lost the dressing room and the results showed this. Bates needs to sit down and get in a tough manager who will drill the defence and up the work rate all over the pitch. Even if we had no quality in the squad a decent manager should be able to get the team playing with a structure, with players knowing what they should be doing, add to this a motivated Snoddy Clayton Delph etc the Leeds job should be an attractive prospect to decent managers even with Bates at the helm.
This is a chance to inject some positivity back into Elland Road!! Lets get behind the team and the new manager and push on!! Id like to thank Grayson for all he has done at Leeds and wish him the best in the future.

The comment about 'the transfer window being closed' stood out like a sore thumb in the club statement - deliberately timed this way as you say.Guildford White wrote:

A new manager at the start of the month would have wanted to spend money, which Bates was never going to let happen. A new manager might have persuaded Howson to stay, so Bates wouldn't have had that cash boost either.
Bringing one in now is ideal (for Bates) - it takes the spotlight off his failure to invest.

Soddinell! Lardy is back from hibernation! In VLR last night and making his FOURTH post in ten years on here! Things must be bad at LUFC! WB, Larders! :thup:Lardy wrote:

But I have to say, I don't think the Leeds job is an attractive one. If I was a manager, I'd be looking at the fact of how much SG has done, with so little & still gets fired. The chairman is despised by the fanbase, the club can't complete a transfer deal without making disparaging remarks towards a former player or an agent (whether thinly veiled, or obvious), and whoever comes in would either have to have a silver tongue with regards to talking round a chairman to bringing someone in or be an absolute genius in working with their hands tied behind their back.

hmmmm. Are you really that naive to think that is really going to happen? give me Mourinho, Wenger, Guardiola or Hiddink, I still dont think that would happen.joluafc4eva wrote:Personally I think it would be a challenge for any footy manager who is out of work. But you said we are heading to the Blue Square Prem Jojoluafc4eva wrote:Personally I think it would be a challenge for any footy manager who is out of work. Just imagine if you were the one who got Leeds into the Prem this season after all.

No of course I dont really but just saying imagine if you came in a it did happen - even if it was next season. Like I say its a challenge for any out of work footy manager.Swell Shark wrote:

Leeds are 10-1 in most markets for Promotion, id give you 100-1...
I honestly reckon we are mid to lower mid table fodder this season im afraid. I'd love to say that next season with some reinvestment we could have a crack, but i think we all know that aint going to happen...

You might be suprised to learn that i actually had a private conversation with riot on here immediatley after the Ipswich game in which i finally conceded that it was time for Larry to go... and if you have a look in the Birmingham thread (i think it's the Birmingham thread) i actually stated that i was quite certain that this would be his last game in charge.rand3ll wrote:I can't wait for Silky's post in here!

Good point there.joelufc20 wrote:I do genuinely believe that Obrein gotgrayson the sack. The way he dealt with him caused him to lose the players respect and that's why results went downhill. We were doing well until that burnley game then we looked a bag of crap against them. After that it has been a downward spiral.
