Shocked with this news initially, but much less so on further reflection.
Many of the players have needed to be mentally 'up' for many games, pretty much since SG was sacked and even more so in the games under NW.
Recent tight big matches have no doubt left the players feeling flat, especially with the talking up of playoff chances with recent improved performances.
Hopefully confidence hasn't been too badly dented.
Knowledge that playoffs are pretty remote might take pressure off to an extent and allow players to operate at a natural level without too much expectation from supporters.
Am certainly hoping that Leeds supporters at matches can retain a high level of contrucive support (recently rediscovered) and provide environment for players to consistently give of their best over final 8 league matches.
I think a 4 or 5 nil result to Leeds is not too far away.

As a Forest fan I'm as stunned as some of you guys are. We've leaked 7 goals at home before so I have some idea of what you're going through...

Ben Parker told everyone, on the microphone, stood next to Peter Lorimer in the pavilion, that Jonny didnt want to go anywhere...... He wasnt going to sign a new contract until he knew what division we were going to be in, so we would have lost money, but dont suggest for a second that Howson actually wanted out... because it is not the truth.

Larry built the whole damn team around JH... He was forced in to playing a formation that maybe didnt suit him this season, but that's because we didnt have enough depth to run out with 5 men in midfield every week...... why didnt we have any depth? because Johnson and Kilkenny's contracts ran out and we never replaced them in the squad....... why? lack of investment. Bates.

You keep some bloody perspective, riot.

If we cant afford the best players, that's fine, i can accept that.... if we have to be a mid table club for a while, that's fine, i can accept that.

I cant accept Bates telling is he expects promotion without spending any money.

The guy is 80 years old. He is Senile. Arent you supposed to retire at 60?

Built the team around Howson - that's what he refused to do simply because his default position is 442. In many games Howson was lucky to cross the half way line. Howson chose to leave - money [no doubt]. The Prem [no doubt]. Being played out of position week after week [probably]. Of course Howson's best mate stands up and tells the assembled mass - my best mate Johnny doesn't want to leave. The prosecution immediately lodge an objection - Johnny Howson's best friend m'lud, has to be an unreliable witness surely. Proved to be true. Johnny took the money and ran. His choice. Warnock is now trying to move away from 442 with a 442 squad. Big job. Huge infact.

Would agree with most of Riots views of last nights show.
Not sure I agree about Grayson, - no matter what, he had to go.
Spot on regarding Bates not been able to pick the right man, surround yourself with the right people, alas Ken is unable to do that and we have Harvey et al. The fall out is shattering.
There is no mid or long term plan, - just a quick fix that may last 4 months to 12 months, not good enough. Competitive teams are built on solid foundations with a short, mid and long term plan. We are light years behind Swansea, Norwich (I know, I know we shouldn't keep comparing ourselves to them but its there for all to see), who have new "Football Folk" at the helm, (that includes Delia who knows her onions and puts the square pegs in square holes at her Club).
Problem here is expectation, like the England job ther pressure to deliver is immense. Now I've given up totally on England, dont really care about the Euro's, I'm getting towards teetering point with LUFC, not a knee jerk reaction just accepting that things arent likely to change until the Man at The Top finally departs.
'64 likes to give his scores for performance, I can assure all who weren't there last night, I would have given Mccormack 1 for earning the pen, Snoddy 1 for scoring the pen (btw, Snoddy is hopeless atm), and the rest zero. I accept they may have burnt out after the massive effort on Saturday, but to resort to the pathetic, spineless, hoof ball we saw under Grayson was most disapointing. Warnocks tactics were shocking, and he needs to take some of the blame for that performance last night

That's a problem on here at the moment 2 brigades, each trying to score points and no matter what topic is started the same arguements seem to raise their head, statistics of what could of , should have and may have, have no real significance. Grayson has gone ,Warnock is here. The only true way we can judge Warnock is next December when he's had half a season with His squad, the 1 he is hopefully allowed to build in the summer. It's been obvious the squad here is not strong enough and the shift the team put in on Saturday is not possible from the same players game in game out,but there's not many options to change a player with one of the same quality because we haven't got them. Talk of we should have got the next Lambert/Rodgers is all well and good but where is he?Don't get me wrong I'd love that too. Then it's stated that the job here is too big for all comers so how is the next up and comer going to cope with that. The only brigade that matters is the Leeds United brigade and in all honesty, it's in a bit of a mess.

Looking at the goals I just kept thinking, where the f**k is our left back?

regardless, if NW gets the praise for a win he gets the s**t for losing.

I dislike the man and think he will hurt us longer term but I think all this is Bates fault.
Every game I predict a 3 - 1 Leeds win, I am traditional like that.

I dont know, after an entire season of 4-5-1, how you come to the conclusion that 4-4-2 is his 'deafult formation'......... 4-4-2 is simply the formation that best suited the squad he was able to assemble on the dodgy budget he was given.

If he had played a 4-5-1 with Brown, Clayton, & Howson (which is how he started the season against Southampton & Boro, by the way)... who would have been on the bench to back up those midfield positions? No one. No money spent to replace Johnson/ Kilkenny.

I thought you only dealt in facts, riot? Seems like you're assuming an awful lot there, mate..

nothing was PROVED to be true. Bates put Howson in an impossible position, he publicly stated that JH wouldnt sign a new contract so a sale was best for the club, which MIGHT have been true had he re-invested the money... which he didnt.

A sale hasnt worked out well for anyone, except maybe KB's financial advisor.

If Howson was so ineffective all season, why was he your MOTM in every single game he played?

All Bates is worried about is putting money in his pocket. He's not worried about promotion or the good of our club..... only how much dosh he can earn before he throws in the towel... it becomes more obvious each day...

Actually, the way i look at it, you cant really judge Warnock at all unless Bates puts his hand in his back pocket and spends some f@cking coin......

...... Like everyone keeps saying... you cant polish a turd....... you guys are having fun blaming Grayson for laying said turd, but you need a f@cking reality check.

The turd has been laid by the white haired 80 year old prick living over there in Monaco, lining his pockets with your hard earned.....

You can say whatever the f@ck you like, but lets face it...

DOYLE, BECKFORD, JOHNSON, KILKENNY, GRADEL, HOWSON, SCHMEICHEL...... all gone... who comes in to replace them? 35 year old Michael Brown, relegated Andy Lonergan, and 'utility man' Danny Pugh...... it is a f@cking joke and im sick to death of it.

It's ok if we're not the club we used to be...... it's ok if we are a selling club...... i can live with that...... but dont go around telling everyone that this is our year and top 6 is a minimum........

I said it the other day....... Grayson was our chance at a fairytale story......... and now we're stuck with old fat Chelsea ba***rd + old fat Sheffield ba***rd......

Who could be bothered, honestly?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

(ive had a few this evening, can you tell?)

Well folks i'm still shell-shocked

I do think Warnock will have learned alot about our players who have once again deceived & cheated us fans with an inept performance beyond belief :o

Credit to Forest, their goals were stunning & most of them seemed unstoppable ! The worrying factor is the Forest boys did us totally for pace, two yards quicker than our lot plus the way they got round the back of us with ease. Forest also found space far too easily which allowed them to play the beautiful game in the correct way as oppose to the hoof we persisted with throughout the game :(

Surely we do not hoof rather play carefully considered long balls to the head of a front man that wins every header?

Grayson may have had his deficiencies, but I never included playing hoofball as one of them. Warnock is the master of hoof, passed on to Blackwell. He tends to use it when under pressure. After decent performances against Soton and Boro, he set his stall out against West Ham not to lose and hoofed from minute 1. Get used to it - you will see a lot more of it.

Sorry Guys and Gals, I have to hold my hands up and take the blame for this one...... well, me and LUDO in general! It says in the managers programme notes that after the West Ham game, all the players were shattered and all they wanted to do was crawl off and get to bed. But, they had to attend the LUDO Presentation Night, sit at tables doing nowt, then walk around and press the flesh with all their admiring fans, and do a bit of cheering when Snoddy got the Player of the Season award and Whitey collected the Young Player of the Season award. The poor lads were obviously overused and exhausted by the effort involved.
Seriously, I didn't want to comment this early, I wanted a couple of days to cool down a bit, but couldn't! I think we will be seeing a totally different Leeds United next season. I think that a number of players will want to move on, including Aidy, Snoddy, Clayton and Lees...... the rest will probably be sold off and replaced, assuming NW can persuade anyone of any reputation to actually come here and wear the shirt.
Strangely enough, the play-offs are still not beyond us, but I cannot see us doing anything even if we raise ourselves to make it to the top 6.
Absolutely and totally gutted. I was sat near the goal and felt like a landed fish, sat with my mouth open and gasping for air! Forest deserved the win, we just played hoof-ball all night, but they out-jumped us, out-played us, out-fought us, and generally owned the park.
Two of my big hates last night......... I have come to hate Tuesday night games, and I have always hated it when visiting teams forget the script and kick off the wrong way round, it just doesn't seem right when Leeds aren't playing towards us in the second half!
