by my reasoning, the first real concrete information we got came on the 29th, and statement from the club came out on the 30th, and it is now the 31st [Australian Eastern Standard Time, of course]...

Everyone's carrying on like this had been dragging on for months.... it's been 3 days

If something major is going down, i would expect this to carry on for some time yet...

I blame LUST for breaking the news. Would have been much better simply to find out when it was all done and dusted.

No body knows - thats the face of it.

The only ones that do know are bates and whoever is going to go all the way with the investment/takeover.

from a horrible and selfish point of view , we kinda need to hope, for the good of the club anyway, that Ken actually is ill...... because if he's still fighting fit and still wants some involvement, he's not gonna let the club go for anything less than exactly what he thinks it's worth....

If he's crook, maybe he'll be forced to just let it go...

Been thinking the same thing, mate. Don't wish ill on anyone, even an old scrote like Bates, but if something is diminishing his 'powers', it's hopefully a good thing for all of us who genuinely love Leeds United

Think talks have been going on a lot longer than just last week. I would expect to hear something sooner (days, up to a week), rather than later (weeks to months).

Unlike many who seem to be disappointed that nothing solid has come out yet, I actually think that's a positive.

If there was no real substance in the prospective offer then Bates could rapidly blow it out. The longer talks go on, the more serious the negotiations are.

The stumbling block could be when they want to go through the books - given the shambolic nature of the published accounts (the ones where the pavilion lost £196,000,000 last year) if the internal accounting is as bad it could take many months for any bidder to do due diligence.
