I can't help but feel that more people would excited if they thought we paid £500,000 for him and we fought off 3 other championship clubs.

an oldish head alongside our young CB pairing is useful. The fact he has experience of promotion from this league and recent Prem games is a huge bonus. getting him for free makes it even better!

I wouldn't...I'm happy with a good free agent signing. money doesn't come into it. Wasn't O'Brien an oldish head? Robinson?

Ok he's 33. But sounds a decent player.
I'm quite pleased with this signing and he played 16 times last season for norwich. Think he could do well in the championship .

I would be very surprised if people were unhappy with Dury. He is perfect alongside the two young lads we have already, he has plenty of experince and has won promotion along with playing 16 Premirship games last season. Not a bad guy for a castoff

Dont think the age thing will come into it if he has half a dozen solid games from the start of the season..would rather gamble on a bit of experience, someone who has shown they can defend over a number of years instead of potentially good young uns We'll just have to trust Colin wont we? what choice do we have?

As someone else posted, if this is simply part of the strategy to get us out of this division before adding the required Premiership-strength talent, then, great.

All about getting the mix right. A few experienced heads to lead by example and a few younger players with the ability and desire to play at a higher level.

Looks solid enough, used to the pressure of a promotion race and seeing it through. Looks a good signing although never heard of him before.
