Bateman is excellent too especially the Belfast based man with no name. At the end of that first book I was sure we'd find his mother was dead but still in residencelufc1304 wrote:

If you're a Hiaasen fan, check out Colin Bateman, Norn Iron's answer to king Carl. You might need a little help with the vernacular, but he's up there with CH. And yes, check out MP, don't think you'll be disappointed

Thanks mate, when it does get bad I console myself with the fact I don't sound like Antony Hegarty. He's had something a lot worse done down there.
WR, Ges & i all enjoy his emotive music immensely & i think one of our new pollsters have voted for his albums in our polls

If you haven't, read 'Empire State'. For me, it has one of the best endings of any book I've read

I've not read anything since "Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy". After that, no need to read anything else is there?

How did you get on? I had mine done yesterday - 12 staples holding my gut together. Quite a bit of pain but it will only be for a week or two. Not looking forward to going for a dump or having a coughing/ sneezing session but it seems to be manageable. Although my mate had it done and said day 3 after the op was the worst - cant waitCSA wrote:good news n thanks for the support, (mine didn't work by the way) smiling a lot broader now off the tramadol, roll on Tuesday.

Re: HERNIA
Turned up at 7.15 am (jimmys) waited all day and was told to go home (Bas**rds) at 4.45 spent all day in there no food or water since 11 night before, apparently the guy who was on the slab before me devloped complications and consequently they wouldn't have time to do me, F**king fuming i was really kicked off on the ward (in true LUFC fashion) i can tell you, they were grovelling all over me with sympathy but i am in real pain with this and off work, now Im waiting for a new date, have slapped a complaint in for what good that will do me. NHS shove it, from what you say though looks like another couple of weeks off work after the op.B@stard wrote:
