Back to footie.
Are we going to move Byram up to the wing to replace Green and play Lees at RB?
Or keep Sam at RB and put Tom in CR midfield and forget about a right wing player?
Kis at CD and Pelts at RB?
We don't have much cover anywhere this season so far, but I actually envy Warnock with the interchangeable options he has in defence, ahead of this game. Be fun to do

Think there is many options, with green out. Does NW move young sam to right mid and bring lees into back 4, maybe a straight swap with doiuf coming into right mid but this would put a lot of pressure on sam. Bring in drury at left back white to left mid and varney over to right mid. However i would like to see a solid back 4 against a good blackpool side,
............kenny
pelts...lees....pearce....drury
byram...norris...austin....white
..............macca
..............becchio.
solid back 4, norris and austin can more than handle the centre midfield area and then a bit of pace out wide to try and hit them on the break. Can see a tight game a would be happy with a draw.

Re: Blackpool v Leeds Match Thread News/Reports/Ratings
I have a sneaky feeling that we are going to nick this tonight in a 0-2 win and another clean sheet for Paddy! I am also backing Black Batty to get his first for the club as well. He looks a dangerous threat from corners and hoping he gets some space to send a stinger from 30 yards!! Think Diouf might get of the mark as well!
Hope I am not being to optomistic but 6 points from first two games with some tricky ones coming up would be a great moral boost!
Over interest for me tonight is Bourussia Mönchengladbach's first appearance in the Champions League against Dynamo Kiev on Sky sports 2! I will give that a watch while getting the live updates from the mighty whites! Shame I couldnt get a ticket for tonight, its sold out. (Gladbach game that is)

Im not sure sam Byram is gonna get a start tonight, with the way Blackpool attack, Warnock might go with a more experienced back four (well as experienced as we have).
---------------Kenny------------------
Peltier----Lees----Peltier----Drury
White----Austin---Norris----Varney

Or Peltier may go centre and Lees on the right.
Subs - Ashdown, Gray, Diouf, Brown, byram, Pugh, Rogers

Peltier may be captain and may be good......
But is he good enough to play in 2 positions at once??
Hopelessly lost.................. But making good time

Re: Blackpool v Leeds Match Thread News/Reports/Ratings
I would go with that apart from White...
After the last 2 games where he has not done much I would leave him out and give either Byram a go on the wing or Diouf.

I'd agree with that one! Be good to get the first choice back 4 in again to give them chance to continue gelling. Would give us decent options on the bench, with Diouf and Byram able to come onto the wings too, with Kis to come on for Lees if he's still not 100%.nickjett wrote: ---------------Kenny------------------

I could see another 1-0 tonight, but would be happy with a draw and preferably a clean sheet!

I would have White start on the bench. Not so much for his performances, but rather it would leave our options open a bit. If we start Diouf and he fades, we bring on White to use his pace and hopefully get the better of a tiring fullback.hector wrote:I would go with that apart from White...

We could also have the option of using him at LB later in the game if we are chasing the lead (hopefully not) to have another option for Varney to play off.
Quite a few options we could start with, which is a nice thing to have.

White is beta on the wing imo, when he plays fullback he doesnt go forward enough. Were used to see him bomb forward if he doesnt do this we say he has a bad game.hector wrote:I would go with that apart from White...

tonights team selection is going to make it easier for us to judge what he will pick in the future.
Im curious as to what he is doing with lees Atm.

Well we know he missed Shrews with a thigh strain, so he was probably benched as a precaution on Saturday and considering Byram was so good vs. Shrews, Warnock clearly wanted to see what he could do against better opposition.Emsley wrote:tonights team selection is going to make it easier for us to judge what he will pick in the future.

Reckon Lees will be back today though, with Pelts on the right. Byram is good, but Lees has much more experience, and we'll get the best out of Pelts at full back.

I'm pissed of green is crocked for 6 weeks though.Genghers wrote: Well we know he missed Shrews with a thigh strain, so he was probably benched as a precaution on Saturday and considering Byram was so good vs. Shrews, Warnock clearly wanted to see what he could do against better opposition.

He looked quality against wolves.
Ah well, Tune in tonight at 8!

Re: Blackpool v Leeds Match Thread News/Reports/Ratings
6 weeks?! Where have you heard that? He was solid against Shrews too, though clearly not a right winger as he kept drifting inside and making us a bit narrow. Would like to see us try a 4-3-3 with White and Pelts as wing-backs, Rudy, Green and Norris in the middle and Varney and Macca 'in the hole' or drifting wide supporting Luci.Emsley wrote:I'm pissed of green is crocked for 6 weeks though.

Perhaps we'll see White start at right mid then with Drury at LB tonight, or maybe just start Diouf there? Good to have that sort of decision though, shows we've got a bit of depth/versatility in the squad!
