Tough game v the Toffees sitting 2nd in the prem right now

Moyes once again doing a fantastic job at Goodison...his assistant ex-Leeds player Jimmy Lumsden say Everton will field a strong team. They won't win the prem & have no european commitments therefore targeting the two domestic cup are realistic trophies they are capable of winning....unsure what to think about our line-up for this game as we are in danger of incurring more injuries to what is already is a frail squad ...Will be interesting to see how Warnock plays it !

I do think he will field a strong side and that's the only team we have got really.....I would like him to rest Austin and bechhio at least till the second half play some of the young lads.. We have
Nothing to lose and you never know!!!

It would be nice to give them a game, but I think it's important to keep key players injury free atm...

Becchio, Austin, Diouf rested, as well as anyone who's picked up knocks recently.

I'd like to see Lenighan and Poleon start, probably have White and Varney on the wings.

They have a realistic chance of the fourth spot this year I reckon but the cups are obviously their best chance of winning something. If they play a strong team , realistically we will get beat no matter what team we play at the moment but you don't want to make too many changes of bringing in fringe players, as a thrashing is no good for moral .So I would only change players from yesterday that NW may have fitness concerns about.

Agree Genghers NW really needs to rest certain players

our next two games v Bristol City & Bolton are far more important than this game

We'll lose no matter what team we put out...the above team will bo doubt get hammered...we need to stay in touch with the top six so we cannot afford to have anymore injuries to our key players

it's not our style to sit back, you know he is gonna field a full strength team and give it a go, probably subbing key players early second half.

Not any longer, teams used to until scum did it , then it was deemed ok .

Moyes could look on this competition as one his side could do well in.So expect he will field a fairly strong starting eleven with the more experinced players on the bench in case they are needed.It is a good chance for some of our players to test themselves against a premiership side.

Crikey 1964, I find myself agreeing with you for once lol. This really is a no-win kind of game for us isn't it? On the one hand we could benefit financially from TV revenue/gate receipts/progressing to next round even ( yup but we've had these kind of matches in recent seasons and the financial windfall seems to disappear into the ether) - whilst on the other hand I'd expect most of us will be watching the game, live or otherwise, through fingers closely glued to our faces not wishing to watch for fear of injuries.

It's all a bit knife-edge at the moment isn't it? Keep what squad we have remaining injury free and we may have a chance of play-offs but ( and God forbid) a couple more injuries and we could be in a relegation fight.

Warnock whilst in the Championship and Moyes when we return to the Premiership.

I reckon the first team will want a crack at Everton. Unless someone is carrying an injury that Colin doesn't want to risk he'll put the full team out.
