I think it's a fairly good summary of other things I have read though. I still feel that this deal is far from signed.

I don't know what Castles' agenda is but he doubtless has one, and it's not in Leeds United's interests. He DMd me once on Twitter after I pointed out an error he had made with regard to something medical in one of his articles and was a total dick about it.

Certainly there is nothing in today's statements that says the deal is completed. The feeling I get from the fact that so much is coming out publicly from the parties involved is that it is very very close and that there is an agreement in place subject only to legal minutiae.

Ken seems to me to be having his final say in his latest anti-LUST rants.

While I welcome this sale in the hope that it returns us to our former glory, or at least the premier league; I am honestly struggling to get excited about it.

From what I've read about this group they have a long history of making huge losses, and only recently have turned 6 and 7 figure profits. They don't seem to have a wealthy man by footballing standards at the top ploughing money in like PSG's, Malaga's and City's all had done. In fact, from the YEP they sound more like Portsmouth's Al Fahim and All-Faraj than those clubs mentioned. Time will tell but they don't sound wealthy, nor do the stats in the YEP show it either. And with that report saying they are not acting as an intermediary, that seems to suggest that the funds won't be that significant because their aim will be turning a profit...

Sorry if this sounds downbeat, but can anyone honestly say they are excited about a group who make nominal profits by footballing standards and have a history of significant losses?

I'm struggling. Makes you wonder if this group have borrowed money to buy us, and will borrow more money to.investment, thus taking us back into debt. Or can areassure me that isn't the case?

It's been said before Mike and is the public position: GFH are brokers, a banking institution. They are negotiating and fronting the bid on behalf of a consortium. It is the financial clout of the backers that matters and we have been assured, in the first public statement made by the club in relation to the "investment" in June, that all the consortia bidding for the club at that time have sufficient wealth to make us competitive in the Premier League. Of course it all depends on whether you believe club statements or not...

Banking institutions worldwide made heavy losses over the last few years. That is in no way indicative of the wealth of those who have money invested with said banks, or chose to use them as intermediaries.
