Millwall away

I'm planning on going to Millwall next month if I can get a ticket, and staying with a mate who lives a few miles from the ground. Because I live overseas I haven't been to a game in a couple of years, let alone an away, and have never done Millwall but obviously heard some of the stories. Just hoping to get the rundown - whether there'll be a place to meet other Leeds fans for a drink beforehand or whether I'm kidding myself asking that, whether the safest way to get in and out will be by rail to South Bermondsey station (bearing in mind I'll be in London so I can't get a coach from Leeds!), and whether I'm any chance of getting a ticket having not been to a game for a while and only just registered for the online system! Planning on going to the game and travelling to and from it on my own which may seem risky but I think it's well worth it for this one.

You will be very fortunate to acquire a ticket for the Millwall game....I believe the station is more or less next to The Den stadium....you are either a brave or foolish man choosing this game as an away choice, just don't wear any Leeds colours & remained tightlipped with their fans....i'm giving the game a swerve this time !

I get to go to so few Leeds games these days I feel I don't have a choice! Brave and foolish perhaps, but given I have an overseas accent rather than a Yorkshire one I'm hopeful enough I can avoid any trouble by playing dumb, and will sure as hell be keeping colours at home! If I can't get a ticket in the away section could always try my luck with the home fans haha!

We have also been informed by the local rail operator that South Bermondsey Station, which has a separate walkway for away supporters, will be closed on the day of our trip to the Den due to essential maintenance.

At this early stage, there are also no guarantees over further disruption to services between Leeds and London Kings Cross.

We know many of our fans favour rail travel to games in London, but on this occasion we would urge our fans to plan ahead and, where possible, make the journey to the Den via coach.

So, any fans not travelling by club coach will be left with a 20 minute walk through hostile territory..... you can bet the local hard boys will be on the lookout for any stray Leeds fans they can cut out and bring down. Think hard guys!

Ah f**k that's not good. There's no Leeds supporters coach leaving anywhere from London is there? May have to get a cab from where I'm staying and god knows how I'll get out after the game if I do that, or just try my luck on the replacement buses, not liking either prospect.

Have you thought of contacting one or more of the Regional Members clubs down your way to see if you could buy a trip on a coach for the day? You never know, you might join up and come to other matches!!!

Few things stopping me from doing that, I'm staying up north with a mate the night before the game (staying in London the night of the game), plus live overseas so that wouldn't affect whether I come to other matches, it always depends on other things. Think I'm just gonna have to try my luck with a cab or the replacement buses to Bermondsey, and hope having an overseas accent means I can play the dumb foreigner card to get out of any potential trouble. Perhaps I'm being stupidly optimistic.

Anyway good luck to everyone with this game no matter how you're getting there, I think we all need it!
