The terrible miss aside.... Sounds like varney had a good game.... I know it does The team injustice tp single out one player.... But this is a player who as far as I am concerned hasn't contributed up until this point.... Also.... How come we can put two premiership sides out of the cup but can't beat Charlton Sheffield or brum...? Hope this is the start of a good run... MOT...

I thought we played a lot better without bechio tonight there was no hoof ball to him so we played it passing a lot more I thought pelts and Lees played well, but let's not get too carried away cos yes we won but against a struggling prem team playing there reserves to be honest but bring on Bradford at home in next round.... MOT

4 points:
Varney - my motm despite his poor finishing. Far more mobility tonight as a result.
Attacking - we did. Presumably because we can afford to lose, Warnock shelves his nasty anti football in the cup and the crowd (where was everybody?) has something to cheer about. Learn the lesson please Colin. Only 2 good performances this year, both in the cup?
Saints - oh dear. What a shower. They look exactly like a league 1 side playing in The Prem. They concede an average of 4 goals per game away from home. Easy to see why. Shocking.
£20 - excellent value tonight.

Got this one totally wrong, thought after the last few games where in all honesty we've been awful, they would beat us, mainly due to the fact we don't look like we can score.

Only 17,000 fans witness a superb performance...we created more chances in the first half than we did in the last four games...Warnock drops Becchio at long last
replaces him with Varney.... woweeeeeeeeeeeee instant movement upfront, he covered every blade of grass in the opposition half & in the Saints box....White & Byram bombing down the right flank allowing Diouf our playmaker freedom to find our runners with their movement on & off the ball....Brown just gets the nod for my MOTM, his best game for Leeds, broke up the play with his strong tackling, neat passing & generally controlled the engine room....Just a bit of perspective Adkins made 11 changes with kids on the bench nevertheless we still thrashed a technically better side than we'd face in the championship
Ashdown - 7
Byram - 8
Pearce - 8
Lees - 8
Peltier - 8
White - 7
Brown - 9
Austin - 8
Tonge - 8
Diouf - 8

Really, really, pleased with last nights result, but most of all, I'm pleased with the team NW played, thankfully he's seen the light by dropping Becchio, and I'm really pleased that Varney made is mark.
Lets just hope we keep it up

Varney missed an absolute sitter, even this little old man would have put that one in the onion bag....credit to Reg he didn't allow the horrendous miss to affect his game & kept going all night...a goal would have been the icing on the cake for his 100% effortBakerjamessteven wrote: I usually stay up check Leeds and all results before going to bed, but was very tired and couldn't be bothered, so went to bed.

Hopefully Varney is given another chance now as oppose to bringing back the snail-pace Becchio v the Seagulls...i'm hoping this performance wasn't a one off as he has been woeful previously

Lots of kids there with their dads with it being half term, lets hope they enjoyed the game and the win and they keep pestering to go again and lo and behold we may have our new generation of Leeds fans.
Really enjoyed the game last night and thought it was a good all round team performance, thought Brown looked fitter and sharper than I have seen him before, Tonge looked shattered by half time but then seemed to get second wind.
Can I just say even I could have scored the chance that Varney missed but as everyone else has said he kept on going and put in a solid performance.
