Some horrific scenes today. Saw one with some poor guy's legs blown off being helped away. Prayers to those effected. Mike Bellwood of LUA checked in okay. Boston has top-notch trauma units, so all those injured are in the best hands possible given the situation.

The world is only going to get worse and worse sadly. Things like this happening more and more often, which doesnt make it any less tragic, just even scarier.

Yet to hear any admission from the usual suspects, reckon it could be from the enemy within? Speculation with far right white supremacists who have increasing numbers/prevalence.

If so will be the religious right.
I dont think a bunch of white nazis would blow up a bunch of people like that.
The attack on the library or failed attack signifies discontent with the culture.

From what I heard on the news this morning, there was no attack on the library.

There was a small fire caused by an electrical problem which happened to be just a few minutes after the explosions at the marathon, people put 2 and 2 together and got 17.

Just speculation at this point. No need to ratchet up the paranoia anymore than it already is.

Perhaps, but lets not forget the Centennial Olympic Park Bombing in Atlanta in 1996.

It's a sobering thought that in the 10 years since the invasion of Iraq, two bombs causing the level of deaths and injuries seen in Boston yesterday would represent a quiet day in Baghdad

I have nothing but sympathy for the innocent victims and their families.

I also blame no one except the individuals or groups directly responsible for planting these bombs.

But at the same time I hope there are a number of (older) Bostonians who are sitting and reflecting today about the effects of terrorism, and their responsibilities in financially supporting Irish terrorists who were perpetrating similar attacks on British civilians and armed forces in the past. I am not saying "they deserved it" or any similar thing, but I do hope there are some people looking back at some of the choices thay may have made in the past and finally understanding the consequences of them. Boston, along with New York, were essential centres of fundraising and political support that the IRA used to justify their operations.

Was the arrested suspect Tom Lees? Somebody should tell the yanks that when we were blaming him for everything, we weren't serious.

I read a story about how a Saudi student who was chased down, tackled and arrested after the blast because he ran away from the scene. The scene of a horrific explosion that everyone was running away from... Typical "the man with the tan who did it "attitude.

I'm sorry I don't understand your meaning?

My comment was just to express that it's sad after recent terrorist events that someone originating from a certain area of the world is instantly suspected of a terrorist act just by being there despite probably being completely innocent.
