Birmingham v Leeds - Team/Reports/Ratings

Post by 1964white »

Be interesting to see if McD changes the team in his first away game as manager of Leeds

Hopefully he doesn't have to make an influential half-time team talk

Can we score in the first half & shock the Brummies

Should be a decent game, they have been playing decent football over the last few months.

I would love to go 2moro but only if I could sit in leeds end......hate this members only rule....fair enough when our allocation is sold out, members and away ST holders rightly for being regulars get priority but when we have loads of tickets spare, it just seems daft not to let people like me buy a ticket. I know its do with keeping the nutters out but must be another way of controlling this.

I read somewhere a little while ago , this may be addressed for next season..the problem being, how to keep the nutters out.
Last year where I was sitting it was obvious there were a few "local" Leeds amongst the Blues fans, including one brave soul/idiot with his son both wearing Leeds tops, will be the same tomorrow no doubt.

Blimey Gurj these excuses are running thin with me, buy yourself a membership card in the summer & you are in a position to watch Leeds playing at Brum, Leicester, Derby, Forest & Peterbro' which are in spitting distance for you pending on promotion/relegation issues

Every game is like an away one for me....even ER is an 130 mile all round trip

When i was living in the south-east during the late 80's/90's we use to take in between 7 to 10 ER games a season plus do all the Midland/London/South away games

A membership card is the answer for you if you wish to watch McDermott's scintallating football next season

My season ticket dosh is already in Leeds United's bank account

If you are involved or participate in any club/society you are required to join up as a member

I thought us Yorkshire folk were tight gits   i pay memberships to LUFC, Leeds United Supporters Club & Middleton Bowls Club (twice annually) every year !

Fair comment Leon.....guess I need to put my money where my mouth is. Problem is I just couldnt commit the kind of time you and others put in to follow LUFC......I have a young family and to be away all Saturday.

Gessa, done that a few times over the years ( sat in away end ) - got so fed up of it now, not being able to cheer when your team scored for fear of getting your head kicked in or the utter contempt you feel with home fans shouting all kinds of abuse at your beloeved club yet you can say anything back for fear or reprisal.

Such a sad reflection of society that home/away cant mix in at least one stand... .....mind you dont Fulham do that these days ?! Wonder how theyy police that ?

It seems the higher up the leagues you go the worse it gets. Our local team here are Forest Green Rovers who are in the Blue Square Premier and you get home and away fans stood together having a chat. Also Cheltenham are my other nearest club (league 2) and I went to the Tottenham cup game last season and found everyone really friendly due to us being no real threat to them winning.

It is very sad indeed that fans cannot mix, one of the joys of rugby games (especially the english clubs) is the banter with opposing fans, but with recent events in the past few weeks with millwall and newcastle not even been able to mix with there own fans, any mixing of fans will never happen

Not current, I know, but any Donny Rovers vs Leeds match is mixed. There is the away end full of Leeds fans, but there are loads of us in among the Donny fans, 'cos there are probably more Leeds fans in Doncaster than there are Rovers fans! That's why the song always goes up "Town full of Leeds fans, you're just a town full of Leeds fans". Often plenty of banter, rarely goes further than that!

Brian McDermott could become the first Leeds manager to win his first three league games if we win at Birmingham
