Million quid investment in LUFC today

@PhilHayYEP News is out and about - David Haigh has made a second personal investment in #lufc this week. This one is in excess of £1m.

Payment made from Haigh to #lufc through Sport Capital, a firm set up last month and registered to Sussex.

A different Dubai-based firm (Berrydale 7th Sports Holdings) which Haigh is a director of made six-figure loan to Leeds United on October 15

Hopefully Egg will have some money for the January window now?

I'd imagine it's to cover running costs....

Makes a nice change to have a company registered in Sussex rather than BVI.

I reckon faaip is right though. it will be about running costs (remember vast chunks of season ticket money for the next few years were mortgaged to build the unoccupied executive boxes in the East stand)

then why not invest in January?...BBC are usually mistaken. We know we're probably running at a loss so we'll need frequent million quid investments to keep going...

just occurred to me though that may pouring cold water on peoples expectations so ...BBC also report that Santa Clause will be along with a decent gift for the club and the genie from Aladdin will granting us three wishes.

If we invest in January it will be because the squad has been performing well and there is a chance of promotion this season rather than the next.
If the chance is deemed too small I would expect it to be held until the summer.

Add this to the loan Haigh took out in October (again from one of his his own companies) and his statements about "investing on the pitch" - can I feel optimistic that Haigh wants promotion THIS season and Prem financial benefits?

After the past 10 years, it is very difficult I agree. But there is a positive buzz around LUFC ATM.

Keep our good run a while longer and get some investments in jan transfer window and we would be a good position to charge upwards. Dont like feeling optimistic about Leeds though, when we crash and burn the pain will be worse.

Gotta enjoy the ride though. Funny old game; if you start the season well and self destruct after January finishing just below the playoffs the feeling is alot worse than if you start the season badly, then get on a run after January and just miss out on the playoffs.

We've got players who should be good at this level, a manager who is good at this level, finances good enough for this level, facilities more than good enough for this level and fans who exceed this level. If we get one or two quality players in, playoffs is a likely goal and any failure would be within our own handling. The pain from previous years was selling our best players, buying average oldies and yet still barely missing out on something.

I'm optimistic, but really what does a million quid investment mean? It could get you (a)Luke Murphy (b)Peltier, Pearce and Hall or (c) Austin, Poleon, Byram, Mowatt and Smith. I'm just glad there is some sort of money there to allow McDermott to go fishing. Truth be told, I'd rather the fees went back to undisclosed (we always sell players for this amount!?) and there are no expectations on anyone.
