Grayson's comments at Sherburn Q&A tonight...

Post by Twiggster »

..along with Bairdy and Shezza - made me laugh - though angry as well. Tweets from those attending:

Grayson on Gwyn Williams: "Ken's eyes and ears, a snake in the grass and a w**ker"

Glyn Snodin: "A right horrible fat ba***rd!"

In the transfer window when Leeds were pushing for auto promotion from the Championship, Grayson wanted to sign McAuley, Andrews & Gorkss...

"Is Ken Bates a twat?"

Grayson" I'd use stronger words than that"

Grayson's offered the chance to take Snodgrass & Hoolahan on trial at Blackpool, both had reputations for drinking so just opted for latter

Grayson considers Gradel, Kisnorbo and Naylor as his best signings. Worst? Asked about Darren O'Dea: "I've signed f**king worse than that!"

"I've been sacked twice, once by a big club and the second time by a small club down the road"
Grayson tonight.

Grayson confirmed what we all expected. "Simon's pot" wasn't big enough to piss in.

Gwyn Williams used to use the toilet in the players dressing room, so he could listen to what the players were saying, and report it to Ken.

When Leeds scored, in the directors box, Gwyn never celebrated. Grayson said he enjoyed gloating when we lost.

WOW!

More as I get them

Ramon Nunez given a 4 year deal, despite Grayson not really wanting him. "That's what Gwyn Williams did".

"It's known Ken Bates wasn't at Leeds for footballing reasons." Grayson.

Grayson to Daniel Jones after Gradel dismissal: "If we don't win, good luck getting off this f**king pitch!" :roflmao:

Seems to have dried up on twitter from the meeting....wish I could have been there.

I've just got home from this fund raising evening and I can say it was a top night with a no holds barred Q & A, unfortunately John Sheridan couldn't attend due to Plymouth losing yesterday where he no doubt faced some questions from his chairman.
Glynn Snodin was his replacement and he loves Leeds United just the same as us fans, he is in his element talking about the passion of the fans and the stature of the club. He also told a story about Shez being the man who could get you anything,(he was born in Salford), and how he was the hardest drinker at the club. The only downside tonight was I had to drive so whilst all around we're getting steadily drunk I was as sober as a judge.
Ian Baird deserves special thanks for coming all the way from Southampton for a few hours and then going straight back home. Simon Grayson answered most of the evenings questions as quite a few were about a previous chairman and CEO .
A very honest and entertaining night

SG also told how he was promised all the money from the sale of Jonny Howson to strengthen the squad only to be informed the day after his sale that the money was no longer available.

He added that he was never told how much we received for any of our player sales.

Other comments from a mate who was there:

Just to clear up the notion that Grayson was somehow unprofessional tonight, the "worst player" conversation actually went like this:

Q: Who were the worst players you signed for Leeds?

Grayson: Ha, none, all my signings were great.

Audience shouts out names: Darren O'Dea!

Grayson: Darren O'Dea? I f**king signed worse than him!

Audience: Liam Dickinson!

Grayson: Ha, now he was f**king shite! [laughter] To be fair I had Dicko at Blackpool and he was great for me, but when he came to Leeds he had his boots on the wrong feet or something.

Snodin: That's one thing we had to deal with, you sign players you think are going to be right at the time and do a job, but because of the size of the club they can't do it.

Grayson: We had Livermore, playing in the Premier League, England international, Barry Bannan, Aston Villa and Scotland, but they weren't prepared for the pressure here. Sam Vokes was the same, but is doing great at Burnley.

If what has been reported is accurate, there is, of course, the possiblity that Mr Grayson could be hearing from Ken's lawyers...

Especially as it has been repeated over Twitter etc...

I'd say he's more likely to hear from the lawyers if what he's said is NOT accurate

Scene 1: Ken Bates is sat at the table in his office eating a footlong sub. Ben Fry is sat in the corner reading twitter. Gwyn Williams is sat on the toilet pretending not to listen.

BEN: Jesus Mr Chairman! Have you read what Snodin and Larry were saying about you in Sherburn last night?

KEN: Was it on Sky Sports? As you know it's the only medium by which one can keep up with football.

BEN: No. It was on twitter. A social network?

KEN: How much does that cost? The network of pipes under Elland road cost me a fortune you know?

BEN: It's free Mr Chairman.

KEN: Well if I can't charge anyone for using something I don't own then I'm not interested.

GWYN: Never mind that. What did they say?

BEN: Well Larry said that Ken was a twat and Snodin said that you were a fat useless ba***rd.

GWYN: Damn those Sickpots! Shall I call the lawyers Mr Chairman.

KEN: To be fair Gwyn I think they've got us bang to rights this time. It's only worth us suing if what they have said is inaccurate.

I guess Larry confirms much of what some of us thought the Bates regime was doing. Good for him for standing up and speaking out.

Standing up and speaking out when he has nothing to lose?

If things were that bad, he should have quit at the time on principle.

He would never have quit as manager as he loved the club too much.

Another story he told was when he went for the Huddersfield job. During his interview with chairman Dean Hoyle, things had been sorted out financially and he was about to sign on the dotted line when his phone rang to the tune of MOT. "I don't want to fu***** hear that again" was Hoyles reply. :)

Ironic how Grayson is rambling on when he created his own downfall by cheating on his wife causing a right rumpus in the LUFC camp. He mind was on others things as is the case with most men, he lost all focus of his managerial role & paid the consequence in the end

Move on !

His marital situation is of no relevance.

What is distinctly relevant is the attitude of Bates and Williams and their willingness to bleed the club dry. Thank f*ck we have moved on

Of course his affair was relevant, he lost the respect of the dressing-room & employees at the club at the time & from then on his career at Leeds was doomed.

He certainly lost my respect, comes across as a bit of a slimeball tbh !

I would be absolutely astonished if he was the only one in that dressing room who had ever strayed.

Wrong target Leon, the one who did his utmost in 8 years to destroy the club is the bearded slug.
