We wouldn't come close to spending that type of money even if someone were available.Gino 1959 wrote:Let's say we didn't sell him and had 4 million - who would we buy that is available? So it would be even worse/stupid to sell him - as there would still be nobody available to buy.
On the one hand it's an instant pay rise for him and a chance to play in the Prem, albeit a short lived one. Of course, WHU will have a huge parachute payment to float them back up after a season so he may see this scenario as better regardless of anything that might be on offer at ER given the current 3 ring circus in operation.

Of course we are all assuming that any transfer fee would be given to the manager as a transfer warchest anyway! If the current owners are selling, they would probably be within their rights to keep that money when they bugger off. Then what?

If (as looks very likely) Haigh's T/O bid has collapsed, GFH-C need several millions to pay back the loans his companies have put into LUFC, this season.Drs.Dad wrote:Of course we are all assuming that any transfer fee would be given to the manager as a transfer warchest anyway! Deja vu...did Twitter's character limit prevent them from adding 'behind the scenes'. Surely Patel could have inserted a smiley of a backside.operahr wrote:Haigh and Patel have tweeted that the bid for Ross has been rejected and they are working very hard for the club. 9.25 tonight

Not my tactic it's the way our manager WILL play, Ross is top scorer and done well, very well, but he'll want to go to the premiership, play alongside Carroll and earn more money, so sell now and adapt best we canMeeTa wrote:
Ross is still the top scorer in this league, just top point that out. What Becchio is capable of now, no one knows. Hes barely played for a quite some time. Smith from what ive seen isn't good enough yet to play like you want. And our wingers hasn't shown one bit of quality. Your tactic can work, but we haven't as of now got the players to play it.

Only if we get a pitiful £800,000 and a crap West Ham reserve striker in return. Then it will be a proper Leeds January transfer window.

Why sell now? Doesn't make sense. Extremely hard to replace players in Jan transfer window, and if we sell Ross we NEED a replacement.

As H says we wouldn't spend 4 mil on a player. More likely to spend it on several crap players on big contracts. My point was that not many good players are available at our level in January.faaip wrote: Someone isn't doing their job if they can't find players to spend 4 mill on...
