Bye Bye Jimmy

Post by lufc1304 »

Phil Hay reporting on Twitter that Jimmy Kebe has gone back to Palace. Thank fook for that; he was, in the main, an uninterested waste of space

Habibou, Kebe, I'm detecting a pattern here.

He should have gone back sooner... another excellent player who couldn't meet the expectations of Leeds United. Far from the first, nowhere being the last! What is it about this club which turns good players into ineffective doughnuts?

I think he stopped being an excellent player 2 seasons ago.
I reckon BMc was hoping to get the player he knew rather than what he is now.

I got the impression that Kebe wasn't too thrilled to be grinding out Championship-style football.

Injury was the main problem. The second one was the way Leeds play. Kebe relies on quick breaks and fast counter attacking tactics. The number of times he was waiting for a quick ball and when he recd it it was too late. You would have seen a glimpse of the real Kebe in the 5-1 win against Huddersfield. Shame it didn't work out though.

Reading now look forward to meeting you next season. With your new owner you look now to be a team that will be on the rise. Unlike us having just missed out on the play-offs we will need to offload a number of high earners. Our present owner can no longer afford to run the club and we have been unable to sell it despite three interested parties all walking away. There is even talk of admin. but I doubt thats true.

Great being a football fan isn't it! Good luck for next year.

If by quick breaks, you mean, "maybe I while meander over that away soon", then yes, he was extremely quick.

He has to have the ball threaded through for him. It was no good giving him the ball with his back to the goal. All academic now I suppose. Came up to see a few home games and the away game at Brighton. Have to say I was impressed by Macormack, Austin , Pearce but think you will need to make quite a lot of changes to be challenging next year.

If Macdermott stays can see him going for Jobi Macanuff who has just been released by Reading. If you want a good midfielder who is strong and can hold the ball then Leidgerwood, was looking really good for us when he came back after being injured most of the season. We offloaded both because we couldn't afford them which is a shame
