don't agree at all. I think if cellino thought it would be good for the club he would sack him in a heart beat its if the club can afford him to sack him at the moment. The week ahead is the telling time for me.trooper20 wrote:Is Cellino a sheep in wolf's clothing - I think so. Pochettino new spurs boss. who's our boss?

Cellino meeting every player individually next week so that should be interesting.
I'm going back to 505, I saw them at Sheffield and they were amazing.

Given the fact that Cellino has always stated that it will be the season after next that we mount a promotion challenge I can see him keeping BMc on next season rather than waste money on firing BMc. If this next season is spent simply on existing and straightening out the financial side of things then it makes financial sense to keep BMc in charge but with Cellino having the ultimate say on transfers (with incoming players being for the club rather than the manager).

why would he keep him just for the sake of it then pay him off next season that doesn't make sense when he has already said that he is being paid too much every month.weasel wrote:Given the fact that Cellino has always stated that it will be the season after next that we mount a promotion challenge I can see him keeping BMc on next season rather than waste money on firing BMc. A question of financial balance right now, I would think?ldsutd wrote:

Righto here goes. BMc has 2 years left on his contract, he will get that whether he is our manager or fired. As such if next season is simply a transitional one then it makes financial sense to keep BMc in charge than to replace him (and still pay him) and have to also pay the new boss 1 year's salary with an un-competitive team.ldsutd wrote:

If he sacked BM now the package would probably be less than paying the full 2 years as I think there are usually clauses in there relating to whether BM gets another job. I would guess it would be more like 12/18 months. I do think that when Cellino starts working with BM he will keep him. Often people that come over as really aggressive have a soft underbelly.

i don't think it works like that, there will be clauses in his contract stating how much he gets paid should he be sacked.weasel wrote:

Yeah there may be clauses but still very likely it would cost more to sack him and also have a new manager/coach next season than to keep him next year and not have an additional manager/coach.

It's not really cheaper to sack someone is it? They still have to have a fair old pay off and then you have to pay wages to their replacement, unless they rather generously do it for free.

Massimo has already said BMC was well over paid on his contract so just an example if he was on lets say £30.000 a week and his pay off equates to £7.000 aweek over the next 2 years that means we are saving £23.000 a week and if Massimo gets a COACH and NOT a MANAGER for £20.000 a week Leeds save £3.000 a weekphilarmy wrote:It's not really cheaper to sack someone is it? LUFC accounts are frozen. So we can't pay off McEgg - OR agree wages for a new coach, until the winding up process has been resolved

What makes you think Brian was on £1.5 Million a year?ldsutd wrote:

Fair enough, but it's a bit pointless postulating potential savings using hypothetical figures

Oh GW why do you shoot down everyone that doesn't agree with you or doesn't see things your way.Guildford White wrote:Fair enough, but it's a bit pointless postulating potential savings using hypothetical figures
We all know you don't like Cellino and don't agree with Brian leaving because he's a nice guy lol but why is it pointless using hypothetical figures? an op further up the page was asking how is it possible to save money by Brian leaving and then replacing him I was only using them figures as an example hence the word used EXAMPLE if I was saying Brian was on £5.50 a week and the pay off had been £2.50 a week and we get a coach in for £1.50 a week we would be saving £1.50 a week is that more like it because that would mean Brian was on £286 a year which is probably still well over what he was worth for the last 4 month of his contract at Leeds.

Re: Pochettino new spurs boss. who's our boss?
Latest name in the hat: OOOH - Bobby Bobby! From R.Leeds:
Former Leeds United striker Bobby Davison has thrown his hat into the ring to become the next manager at Leeds.
Leeds are searching for a new manager following the dismissal of Brian McDermott on Friday and Davison, who was part of the Leeds side that last won promotion from the second tier of English football in 1990, feels he can work well as a coach for owner Massimo Cellino.
Speaking to BBC Radio Leeds, Davison said, "It is a massive job and with my experience of working at a massive club in Europe at Ferencvaros, which is very similar to Leeds.
"I feel that I could bring success to the supporters and Leeds United football club.
"I thought when I heard that Massimo wanted to take a coach into Leeds; I thought that is right up my street because that is what I enjoy.
"I enjoy coaching and being on the pitch, coaching the players and getting the best out of every single player.
"I have contacted the lawyer of Massimo and it is now up to him, if he sees fit, to make contact with me."
Davison made 91 appearances for Leeds during five-years at Elland Road before leaving in 1992 and he eventually ended his career in 1995 at Hull City.
The 54-year-old moved into coaching after he finished playing and after managing non-league Guiseley he has spells as a coach with Bradford City and Sheffield United before landing the head coach role with Hungarian side Ferencvaros in 2008 and in his first full season, he led them to promotion to the top-flight by a massive seventeen points.
He left Ferencvaros the following season after being hounded out by the clubs supporters despite leading them to promotion the previous season.
Davison returned to Leeds in 2010 for a short spell as youth team coach and he has been working with BBC Radio Leeds in recent seasons as a matchday summariser.

to say we cant employ a coach/manager because our accounts are frozen there seems to be a lot of interest in the job and also people seem to be jumping over each other to work with the coach killer Massimo Cellino. things might not be too bad at LUFC after all
