Scoreboard pressure in test cricket is amazing isn't it. Can make what was the most placid of tracks like a minefield all of sudden !

Another reason why I love this format more than any other.

29 for 3

Unconvinced Ballance & Lyth are upto this level of cricket

Ding dong resumes back to normal

Poor shots

Cook looks uncomfortable again

Yet again we are relying on Joe again, he is gonna fail at some time then we are totally in the mire

EMBARRASSING !!

Was was always going to happen at sometime Swan as Root can't be expected to make a big score everytime as i hinted in my original posts

They are a disgrace imo, don't be surprised is Cook throws his wicket away before end of today's play

Lyth not ready yet, Ballance doesn't have the technique for 3, though he did get a good ball, Bell got a great ball, Root was due a failure and it was a decent ball. I saw most of the first morning and with any luck Broad could have had 4 earlish, for me the best bowler on show in this test series so far.

This has been win toss and dominate pitch, I'm seeing nothing to show there's much between the two teams

1 ?
2 Cook
3 Vince
4 Bell/Ballance
5 Root
6 Stokes
7 Buttler/Bairstow
8 Rashid/Moeen
9 Broad
10 Wood/Finn
11 Anderson

Lunch. 181- 5.

Shame stokes got out. Apart from that, not a bad morning.
What kind of music do you usually have here?

Oh, we got both kinds. Country....and Western.

One of the ways I like to compare teams is a mixed team

Cook - E
Warner - A
Cook - A
Clarke - A
Root - E
Stokes - E
Buttler - E
Moeen - E
Broad - E
Johnson - A
Anderson - E

would be my line up

I played a lot at keeper and slip, and I always knew if I caught a ball or not. Good call

The way the Aussies are starting to hammer the ball all over this morning reminds me of Kevin Pieterson...wish we still had him instead of ding dong Bell

England set 509 to win

Only five teams in Test cricket have won a match with five sessions to go

Adam Lyth fails again

Great county batsman, not so great at international level :(

Cook gone now to a poor shot. A big blow, as he is one of the few who could bat a long time.

A frightening stat has just been shown - England's best score for the first three wickets in the last seven tests is 58-3

Stating the obvious here but we need a good strong partnership from somewhere...hopefully now! Balance and Bell. Like you said 64, we can't keep relying on our Joe. Yes, very disappointed in our opening batsman

Ballance is another great county player, his technique at this level is catching him out. Bell is an enigma, seems to have totally lost his way of late. Need a big innings from them to give us half a chance

What happen to the days of Boycott & Edrich opening for England, those two faced some of the fastest & most feared bowlers in the world but generally gave us a solid start for the rest of the team to build on !
