England/Iceland

Post by John in Louisiana »

Iceland has a total population less than half that of the city of Leeds.

Their run through the group stage has been very exciting, but were England to go out to them it would be tragic. Looking forward to moving past Iceland and then staging a repeat of Agincourt.

Spain, Italy, France, England, and Germany all in the same half of the draw. I'm having visions of 2004. Wales to win the whole thing, anyone?

Remember that, after the quarter finals, at least 2 of Spain, Italy and Germany will be gone.
If Slovakia get lucky, all 3 could be gone but I doubt it.
I don't know about this one - I wouldn't be surprised if Iceland beat us.
It depends which England side turn up but I'm taking a draw for 90 minutes.

Prepare to block your ears, if Iceland win (especially a late winner).

Brilliant reaction by Icelandic commentator after the winning goal against Austria.

If we lose this I'm going to start an online petition to get it replayed until we actually get the result we want.
Need to find out if there are any thick racist Icelandic's in their team, if so their contribution shouldn't count.

Can't believe Roy's starting with Sterling, what does he see that everyone else doesn't . He started him in two previous games and had to sub him so why hasn't he learned from that.

If England loses then I demand that all the rules of football are rewritten
so that points will be given for corners, and points deducted for yellow cards
and goals deducted from your team for any red card that is given. Each team will
have a quota of dives, fouls and protestations. If players want to be on the winning
side then mid game players can change sides, but no side can have more than
15 players on their side at any one time. At corners, lifting short arsed forwards
rugby union style into the air so they can head the ball towards goal will be permitted.

This will allow England to progress to the final but in the eventuality their opponent
in the final is Germany then the rules and regulation will revert to the original rules
which will allow England to lose on penalties.

Roy has just given his reason for bringing Sterling back, still not convinced. ....mind you don't think he was either.
