I'm not sure we're any better position than when he came here , perhaps with the odd exception, our only 2 assets, Cook and Taylor were here as kids, Berardi is perhaps the only Cellino signing I would keep at the club,Wood, Cooper as back up, how much he had to do with choosing those signings we don't know but his judgement was evident with the appointments of Hockaday, Milanic, Rosler and Evans, is it good judgement to give them a few games then get shot at the first sign its not going quite right, poor management choices, that's where I question his judgement. Hopefully he has got it right with Monk, only time will tell, more importantly will he be given the time he needs. What players did he sign that are better than Ross McCormack and Sam Byram.the ones he sold.Crude wrote:Not really, the quality of players at the club has gone up since Cellino, or do we just have conveniently short memories about what it was like before the evil Italian showed up?
Also, another Italian player Cellino is hot for. Copy and pasted from a clickbait site, so you don't have to....

Beradi is better than Byram and just about anything is better for the club than McCormack. Way too selfish for me

Choice of Berardi/Wood or Byram/ McCormack, it would be the latter for me.

Re: New Leeds transfer and head coach/manager rumours thread
In hindsight yes 99% of us would have kept RMc but at the time I reckon 99% would have sold him as we all though it was a flash in the pan season and he wouldn't repeat it.
I would definitely take Berardi over Byram who maybe has his 'flash in the pan' season in his debut year as he has never looked like the same player since he got injured. If Byram returned to that form and then improved as his potential suggested it would then yes I would have Byram but as it stands now if we had both at the club then Berardi would be the right back I would select.

Re: New Leeds transfer and head coach/manager rumours thread
A strange one with Sloth as he must have something about him to be a Danish International but it seems that none of the many managers we have had in the 2 years he has been at the club thought he was good enough.
Good that we are clearing out deadwood (or average players) and hopefully replacing them with better. I still feel we have a lot of quality in the squad even without making marquee signings and the main improvement we need is more goals especially from midfield. Defensively I don't think we are as bad as many make out as long as we can cut out the errors. Hopefully the new centreback will simply be a solid performer, nothing spectacular but capable of doing the basics and not f*cking up.

I'm going to say this won't happen and we're getting used. He turned us down last season AIRV (as I recall vaguely)

A photo posted by Leeds assistant manager Pep Clotet has revealed two things. The first is that the team have arrived in Ireland for their pre-season training camp and the second is that they have picked up highly rated 22-year-old Hadi Sacko somewhere along the line.
Sacko who has been capped at various levels in the French youth teams (16’s, 18’s, 19’s and 20’s) is currently on the books of Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon. He started his career with Bordeaux in France and is regarded as a speed merchant who is blessed with raw ability.
Sacko signed a 6-year-deal with Sporting and would be expected to link up with Leeds on loan initially. It comes after a week were Leeds confirmed Marcus Anotonsson and Kyle Bartley joined the club. I can’t help but feel a serious sense of optimism with what’s going on at the club.
More on this story when I get it.

Dallas having extended leave due to the Euros.
Nice to see some of the youth players in there, especially with Monk's history of giving them a chance.
Sackho not included, so he must just be training with the team...

Re: New Leeds transfer and head coach/manager rumours thread
Cooper would suit how they like to play and they have a few older boys in the team I guess?
I am expecting a couple more "squad" players to go, I was half expecting someone to come in straight after Sloth left as we seem to be going one for one on incomings and outgoings.
TBH having a small squad is not a real issue, as long as the manager trusts them all to play and they are versatile enough to work with it.

Every game I predict a 3 - 1 Leeds win, I am traditional like that.
