Agree Gurj let the greedy sod go, loyalty means nothing these days. Taylor thinks he's better than he actually is, he'll get a shock when he steps up to the next level however it won't matter a jot as he'll be earning millions, i suppose you can't blame Charlie for that !Gurj wrote:Taylor has one good season and he's agent see's the ££££ - very very disappointed in he's actions and handing in a transfer request makes him look even worse. Hope we play whichever team he goes to soon and he gets the hot reception he deserves as a result of this, unlike Cooky who did things the right way at least.
Get what you can for him now and get the lad in from Walsall as a replacement asap.

There's as much loyalty of the fans to the players as there is of the players to the fans.1964white wrote:Agree Gurj let the greedy sod go, loyalty means nothing these days. Players who referred to as deadwood
Players listed for the boot by the fans in promotion seasons because of the belief that they won't be good enough to step up, never mind the part they played in getting a team promoted
Fans expect players to hang around as long as the fans think they are good enough, and fans get angry when if they try step up in their careers but as soon as the team reaches a level that may be too high for a player, he must be booted out ASAP no matter how long he's put the effort in for the club.
Players referred to as overpaid, non-trying prima-donnas with no pride in the shirt whenever they fail to win a game.

Re: New Leeds transfer and head coach/manager rumours thread
That's the problem these days, money and agents. Premier league clubs can buy who they want from lower league clubs just on the off chance they can develop them into world class players. £5-6M to them is nothing. Then there's the greedy agents who advise players how to get the most cash from transfers, wages etc knowing full well they'll be getting their cut.
Best sell Taylor asap to stop any unrest as the season begins, I just hope a replacement is being sought and we're not relying on Berardi or putting players out of position to fill the LB

Re: New Leeds transfer and head coach/manager rumours thread
Sure, Taylor is rubbish/not good enough to step up, that's why he won player of the year and was everyone's favourite last year.
At this level we have to accept that our better players will leave if they/their agents get in their head that there's an opportunity to move up a league and/or earn a better wage. Until we can match wages or show that we are are properly ready to challenge for promotion, then we won't be able to keep them here.
We need a replacement as soon as possible, probably Henry from Walsall who should be affordable with the Cook and Taylor money.

a. He's had 2 great seasons at Leeds plus some very good loan spells. Unlike Byram and Cook who were one season wonders. He deserves his move unlike Cook and Byram.
b. How did Cook do things the right way? He left the club at the first real opportunity as well. Byram did the same.
c. Charlie is good enough to play for England in the future in my opinion, he won't achieve that playing here.
d. At least if Charlie moves he is highly likely to get 1st team football, unlike Byram and Cook.
e. Ben Mansford made it public he would be leaving eventually before Charlie did anything. Why put more pressure on Taylor?
Whenever a player leaves us for better things, as long as they have deserved their move based on there performances for Leeds and are going to another team were they will be in the first team plus have allowed us to get us the maximum transfer fee possible they should be wished all the best.
Do Cook and Byram fit in this category? no.
Taylor, RMC, Gradel and Snodgrass etc ? yes.
Just my opinion mate.

Loyalty? Charlie waited patiently for 3 years (when he should have been in the team much sooner) to get into the team he could have left much sooner. He then got into the team and played 1.5 fantastic seasons.
Charlie is the 3rd-4th best English left back around and deserves to play premier league football.
Just my opinion mate.

I will not miss him, vastly over rated by many Leeds fans.
I like defenders who are better at defending.
Beradi would have walked the PotY if not for injury.
I just hope we spend the fee on a replacement.

Another point is if Byram, Cook, Taylor & Mowatt are that good, how come have we finished in the bottom half of the championship for the last two years ?

I think Taylor is the real deal and it is the loss tjat has hurt most probably since Howson departed. I wish CT the best and let's move on because we still have to play in one of the top 5/6 leagues in Europe

Re: New Leeds transfer and head coach/manager rumours thread
Its a shame we may have to say goodbye to CT soon as I think we will miss him. We're forming the basis of a very good squad and its hard to see him want to leave as soon as we start to see some potential for promotion. Its also a shame how the clubs at our level have lost all power and its now with agents and players. He's under contract, whatever that means nowadays and should be forced to fulfill this. Contracts should work both ways, to protect clubs from this and to protect players from being shipped off.

Re: New Leeds transfer and head coach/manager rumours thread
I don't understand the mentality of some Leeds fans; player is a future England player whilst he's here, then is greedy and overrated when he shows some ambition (something this club hasn't done in a very long time). Can anybody really blame Charlie Taylor for wanting to test himself at a higher level? He's seen his mates (who he's better than) sold and then slated, his academy mentors (who he grew up with) discarded like yesterday's chip paper and a revolving door of coaches, most of whom have been second rate. I'll be gutted to see him go, as I had hoped he might have at least given us until January, but I wish the boy good luck. I think he'll thrive at a smaller Prem club, as he's ready for that level now, imo. I just hope that if, as Phil Hay suggested, the club has been bracing itself for this for a couple of weeks, that his replacement has already been lined up. Seems the lad from Walsall is everyone's preferred choice, though I personally have no idea whether he's any good or not.

Helluva lot more reasons than blaming those 4 mate.1964white wrote:Another point is if Byram, Cook, Taylor & Mowatt are that good, how come have we finished in the bottom half of the championship for the last two years ?

Agree, Ges, unrealistic and unfair to expect four young lads, two of whom (Byram and Mowatt) had injury problems, to carry a team out of the toughest league in Europegessa wrote:Helluva lot more reasons than blaming those 4 mate.

Re: New Leeds transfer and head coach/manager rumours thread
I think CT could've have developed into a great player at Leeds. Don't think he is ready for the Prem, but his agent and him apparently got the bright lights and big money in their eyes. It's not like CT was making poverty wages while at the club, so a little loyalty would've been nice from him. That said, sit his ass in the ressies and let players who want to play for the club fight for his spot. Good luck to him wherever he ends up.
