News has emerged this afternoon that Leeds have been in touch with Nottingham Forest over centre-back Jack Hobbs. Phil Hay of the Yorkshire Evening Post has learned of the news as Leeds look to strengthen arguably their weakest position.

Players play for money; it's their business. They have fifteen years at best to make a lifetime's worth of money, so I don't begrudge any player looking to cash in.

That being said, I'm glad it looks as though Taylor is staying. Hopefully his remaining means we can get what we all want: promotion for the team and a big pay raise for Taylor.

Fair enough, mav, all about opinions, I think Charlie is the most talented of the bunch of young ones who came through

I like the idea of us buying young players, but why did he only manage 68 minutes for Gent? Is he injury prone? Or deemed not good enough for a mid-table Belgian first Division side?

finished third in their league and qualified for the knockout stages of the champs league isn't a mid table Belgian side. they won the league the season before as well and he was only 19/20?

Looks like McCormack is off to villa too for 13 millionish.

Bridcutt deal very close by the sounds of it too. Sunderland probably need the cash for Moyes to rebuy fellaini

And also. If Leeds do want to being in a new lb. they couldndo a lot worse than bringing back luke garbutt from Everton. He's not been given a shirt number this season.

My mistake, Dan. Or, should I say, Google's mistake, had them listed as finishing tenth last season! Still had very little game time, which would make me slightly worried

Depends how you look at it really, similar amount of game time when Charlie was understudy to Warnock, and he hit the ground running in the first team so to speak. He won't be in that Belgian U21 squad for nothing

Isn't he an ex-academy product of ours?

At least we're still being linked with LBs - shows that we're planning ahead for Taylor leaving.

Great news on Bridcutt, too.

He was, Bates offered him around £1500 pw, they offered something ridiculous like £8k per week rising to £12k , throughout the contract, they also bought his parents a house and new car, his dad could only see £ signs. We got compo which was increased dependant on first team appearances and even England appearances, he was so highly thought off. We can all make our own mind up, whether he went too early and should have developed at a lower level or just get the odd loan out and take the money to set him up for life. Wouldn't want him back personally, not up to it for whatever reason.

Perico turned down by Monk - clearly didn't impress on trial.

I am glad we don't need to settle with what ever Cellino throws at the team. I just hope Monk always gets the final say.

Appears we are after Joleon Lescott? Thoughts.
IMHO a talented guy for this level with bags of experience. However bit of an unmentionable
