We trained him up yes, but not for his benefit, but for the club and in an attempt to get a first team player or a transfer fee for him. Get a decent transfer sum and just let him go Cellino.
I sure would be, but I would honour my obligations first.

It seems like football contracts work for the players when they want to sue their club, but when the player is in breach of contract the club has no course of action to take. Players trying to force their way out of a club should not be paid whilst the dispute is ongoing as they are not fulfilling their side of the deal which has their own signature at the bottom.

The only benefit the club gets when a player hands in a transfer request is that he then forsakes any loyalty bonuses.

Gary Shaw wrote:Good signing imo, it was a shame Will played very little for us one of Evans main mistakes was allowing Buckley to return to Sunderland to then bring in Carayol on loan . A fully fit Will Buckley is a top quality player at this level (and a proven player) I know it's not all about proven championship players and some of our signings might do well, however, Wednesday have at least 8-9 proven players at this level and are likely to do better than us this season. How many proven championship players do Leeds have?
4 at most: Rob Green, Gaetano Berardi, Charlie Taylor and Chris Wood.
How do I define a proven championship player?
I class a proven championship player as a player who has had more than one good season within the last 4-5 years playing at this level or the equivalent to this level in Spain, Italy, Germany etc.
He was f*cking awful for us and was a disgrace turning up completely unfit, Contrast him to Bridcutt who came from the same club, Sunderland, and the same circumstance, not playing matches. Bridcutt looked fully fit and immediately impressed whereas Buckley looked like he came to the club thinking his reputation was enough. Not saying he isn't a decent player but he should be ashamed of his performances for Leeds and maybe the fact he couldn't get a starting place for us gave him a huge kick up the ar$e and he got himself into better shape.

Much prefer the club to sign hungry young players such as Roofe or players like Bridcutt who came in with a point to prove rather than someone who simply believes in their own hype and thinks they are doing our club a favour.

Sounds like if Bridcutt comes it'll be on loan as we're not likely to meet Sunderland's valuation, but they want him off the books. Would be a free agent next summer.

Linked with Liam Moore from Leicester again - he's not been given a squad number for the season... He's not played much in the last season, but would be a very promising signing.

Was crap when he went to Brum on loan too, had a good first half of his first game, scored and did nothing after, mate says he was booed when coming off in one game for them.

its funny how Bridcutt is getting zero flak for digging in his heals for extra cash.
Every game I predict a 3 - 1 Leeds win, I am traditional like that.

Yeah lots of good businesmen would just wade in and hand over an extra £468k (52 weeks of £9k).

It is Sunderland's mess they paid over the odds wages for a player they deem not good enough. Similar to how Leeds did under Ridsdale and we then ended up having to pay huge parts of the wages to the likes of Fowler, Keane, Mills long after they'd left the club because other clubs would only pay sensible wages.

Us taking him from Sunderland, even on a free transfer, and paying him £17k per week wages saves Sunderland £884,000.

Greedy git!

How's that?

Surely a one-year contract can be worked up, that if we get promotion, then Bridcutt gets his cut as well. Cellino seems like a pretty shrewd contact negotiator, if nothing else.

"Premier League Midfielder Expected in Next Couple Of Days – Not Bridcutt"

http://peacockandsmiley.com/1989/report ... -bridcutt/

I'm not convinced Bridcutt is the answer to what ails the midfield. So wonder who this could be?

Luke Ayling CB/RB/DM from Bristol now linked, left out by them last night too.

Looks like he has been a regular for them.
