Re: Leeds Utd v Sheffield Utd Match Thread
So so deflated.
Cooper returned to his old season form and we didnt take our chances.
Sane as the Norwich game.
Sheffield united had a bit of luck, defended well and everything that could go wrong for ys did.
And Bielsa bringing on Douglas was absolutely stupid.
2 weeks to dwell, great

Rank bad result, got beat by a team that just came to rough us up and hoped for 0-0.
Very unjust result, but yet again we failed to take our chances.
Still 8 games to go and we're only a point behind them.
They mugged us today - w**kers

I was learning Fixing To Die Rag before this match. Think I'll get it down now.

None that count for the stats, though there was that block on Bamford's effort early on. Otherwise the closest we got was hitting the post by Roberts.
Un Marcelo Bielsa, solo hay un Marcelo Bielsa. Gracias Marcello. Marsching on together.

Forget top 2. SU aren't going anywhere but up. Their defence is immense and hardly any team will score against them the rest of the season. Leeds definitely need to win the last 8 to stand a chance now. Not working the keeper with all the chances is simply inexcusable and will eventually be the difference ...playoffs it is I'm afraid. BPF back in as keeper doesn't help . This game showed up Leeds as being 3rd best but now they have to show bottle and stay there !

Outclassing means nothing, it's goals what win games , not near misses or possession of the ball for 60%.So tired of hearing how Leeds dominated but come away without the result.faaip wrote:One of those days when you outclass the opponent and lose ..Poor reffing hasn't helped

Bad defending by Douglas again for the goal. He shouldn't have been on though anyway.

Re: Leeds Utd v Sheffield Utd Match Thread
Casilla - 7 - Good game, unlucky with the red for me and not at fault for the goal
Ayling - 8 - Was having a very good game when pulled off way too early..
Cooper - 3 - No idea where that came from, out of position too often, had a big hand in both their goals
PJ - 7 - Manful performance but missed a sitter for the equalizer and I think he needs to play a bit calmer
Alioski - 6/7 - So much better in mid than defence, love how he never gives up but probably with Harrison the most wasteful player on the pitch
Phillips - 3 - Sat too deep at time (We don't win when he does that) 2/3 badly missed tackles and the passing was off. Missed a tackle for the goal and the sending off incident
Klich - 8 - Sublime, no idea why he came off, outside of Pablo he was the only one creating
Hernandez - 10 - Best performance of the season from the maestro, pulled strings all game and the quality of passing was outstanding. You will not see a better game from a player on the losing team
Harrison - 5 - Some lovely skill always followed by zero end product. You cannot miss chances like his and hope to win
Roberts - 7 - Also missed chances but played better as a whole.
Bamford - 5 - Should have done better early, one paced so fairly easy to defend and completely disappeared as an attacking force after the 50th minute
Dallas - 4 - pointless sub
Douglas - 6 - Sweet left foot going forward, could have created something late but we'd stop making clever runs. Maybe should have tracked the runner for the goal but he's not that quick and there were others in better positions to do so
Clarke - 5 - Rusty, lacking early season confidence ..that should have been Shack.
MB got the subs wrong today imo, and we're now the favourites for the 1 seed in the playoffs. SU are just a physical team without much finesse, they got very lucky.

Blades defended really well tbf, just everything that could go wrong for us did today.
Jansson injury, mistake causes the goal 2 mistakes from Cooper and Phillips cause Kiko to walk.
No luck in front of goal.

Clarke looked undercooked tbh. Would have brought Brown on before him though.

Exactly the Jansson injury just shows our luck. Every bounce of the ball went their way. Ref bottling the red as per usual.

Re: Leeds Utd v Sheffield Utd Match Thread
SU have conceded 3 goals since January in the league, all in the same match after they were 3-0 up. That suggests to me that they will hardly drop any points and generally win every game because they TAKE THEIR CHANCE/S when they come along. Same as Norwich basically.weasel wrote: Only 1 point behind. Norwich and Sheff Utd have done nothing to make me think that they will win all their games so it is up to us to start scoring again and win games.
