Re: Kalvin Phillips
Still guilty of the occasional rash lunge but he made some vital interceptions yesterday

Re: Kalvin Phillips
Did well yesterday.
He has a long way to go before he will even be in the discussion for an England cap.
First he needs to help finish the job this season.
Then he needs to prove himself in the prem.
Then and only then would i want him even thinking about an England cap.

Southampton possibly lining up a bid of £20 million. Are we interested?

Re: Kalvin Phillips
I am but I'm not buying Kalvin as a future England player.

Oh & KP will wear the white shirt of Leeds & England too
Re: Kalvin Phillips
And as I’ve said often he’ll be our future Captain

Re: Kalvin Phillips
Conversely, if we don't go up and £20m is dangled in front of the club, Kalvin will be gone. Would be madness not to take that for a player who has never kicked a ball in the Premier League. The improvement in him under Bielsa is incredible, but is he really worth that amount of money? I'm not convinced he is.

Re: Kalvin Phillips
Took a knock late in the first-half which is why Kalvin was subbed at half-time
Re: Kalvin Phillips
Kalvin recognised for his work in the community by the PFA

Re: Kalvin Phillips
Snap there hands off, £20mil is about twice his real value.
Even if we get promoted for £20mil I'd let him go happily.

Re: Kalvin Phillips
Our Griffin Branch have sponsored Kalvin for the last four seasons. Sponsors representatives of all the players were at TA to meet Marcelo & the players plus watch very training sessions
Definitely a £20m offer on the table from Southampton
When asked if he'll leave Leeds his answer was "I don't know"
One of the top men up there also confirmed Bielsa will definitely be managing Leeds next season

Re: Kalvin Phillips
Doubt we would get anywhere near £20m that is just paper talk, same as with Cook etc it will likely be a fee up front and various clauses dependant on his success.1964white wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2019 6:50 pm Our Griffin Branch have sponsored Kalvin for the last four seasons. I don't care which players leave as long as Bielsa stays (and we re-invest a decent percentage of the money). It is Bielsa that has transformed Phillips from a player worth probably £250k at best to a player being talked about as a potential international and silly fees being banded about. If Bielsa can get players in that he wants, along with the attributes needed, then we will be even stronger.
Re: Kalvin Phillips
No but if the money is reinvested then absolutely yes.
£20mil for a 2nd division player is ludicrous, it's more then Wolves paid for Neves who had far nore pedigree (although that was dodgy).
Just to highlight the ludicrous valuation.
We have been talked about in the foreign press as a possible destination for a midfielder similar age to Phillips (younger in fact by a few weeks).
The guys agent has even said it would be an "honour" for him to play for Bielsa.
All I'm sure dependant on promotion.
But the valuation was between £12-17mil.
He started all except 1 i think it was for Uruguay at the World Cup and is approaching 20 caps and has been a regular for Boca Juniors this season.
Less then £20mil in the foreign market can get you a full international.
Spent wisely £20mil would be a superb deal.
