You would both love it where I live then (apart from '64's dislike of the south)
1 neighbour (miserable old twat that he is, never talks unless I corner him and say 'good morning' which I do when I feel mischievious
farm estate only trouble here was the harvesting in the field behind me at 2130 last night
1.5 miles to the village, and the nearest shop
14 miles to the nearest town
I can go days at a time without seeing or speaking to anyone apart from Mrs H

It's not that I dislike the south (lived in the south for seventeen years). it's just whenever we go back there it seems to get busier & busier, takes an age to get from A to B.
Holidays or breaks south are fine as long I can head home back to peaceful surroundings
