Not sure how Yeboah would handle Bielsa's training.

Bielsa would want him down to 10 stone.

Marcelo would have made Yeboah a worldbeater

Unlike Bamford he'd make chances off his own back, also he rarely missed

Yeboah could blast them in from 30 yards
Lob a keeper
Place his shots
Score with his head
Go round a keeper with his nifty footwork & tap the ball home
Scruffy goals off his knee
Tap-ins

That goal he scored at West Ham would have took my head off had his accurate thunderbolt strike missed the target

As I said earlier without any doubt our best & most exciting modern striker who didn't play in that Wilko title-wining side or our champions league team, apart from McAllister & Radebe he had a mediocre bunch around him.

Boring George Graham came along & replaced him with a past it Ian Rush

Up there with Charles, Clarke & Jones for me

Loved Yeboah 8-)

One of the vest if not the best 2 footed player to grace the PL.

Never saw Tony play in his vest  good with his head too, yes he was a proper all-round striker who didn't need assists from his teammates, he just created chances of his own making. Top class at Leeds until you know who put a stop to his short career at ER :(

He had decent pace for a guy of his build, once he latched onto the ball it was difficult to remove him from it. Couple that with Pythagoras-esque finishing accuracy and a first touch to die for and you've got a top class striker.

Bielsa would've made him a god. He would've been the Yorkshire Mbappe.

 8-)

Attributes that Bamford totally lacks.

I doubt I'll see another striker as good as Yeboah at ER in the future.

Also although Rose has developed into a top premiership player, Danny didn't play one single game for Leeds United

Don't know why you feel the need to berate Bamford. You could compare nearly every striker to Yeboah and 99.9% couldn't do the things Yeboah did.

For some reason I seemed to be a curse for Yeboah as he never scored when I watched him at ER including missing some absolute sitters including one from a couple of yards out (think it was v QPR in a 4-1 home defeat). Watched a few games around that time including the home fixture v Monaco (after Yeboah's memorable hat trick in the away leg) and Carlton Palmer scoring a screamer v Villa. Bizarrely Brian Deane had a great record in the games I saw live.

Like you say the Yeboah goals live on long in the memory though and that is why he has the legendary status. Oh to have had Hasselbaink a couple of years earlier and to see them both playing together in their prime. A Yeboah style striker would be fantastic in the team as teams couldn't simply defend deep as he would just thump it in from 30 yards. I love strikers or even any players who can absolutely thump the ball in from distance, you just can't defend against them if they are capable of hitting the target with power as often even if the keeper can make a save the ball will come back out for a tap in.

Drinkwater gets battering outside Burnley nightclub?

With some players you can absolutely pinpoint a decision that utterly ruined their career and Danny Drinkwater is one of those. His move to Chelsea just hasn’t worked out and it sounds like things have gone from bad to worse for him.

He’s currently on loan at Burnley but it looks like he might face some time out depending on the severity of the beating he took the other night from a gang as reported by The Sun.

The story claims that he was repeatedly trying to chat up the girlfriend of Scunthorpe United’s Kgosi Nthle. They suggest that he was aware she was in a relationship but still insisted ” she’s coming home with me”. It’s astounding arrogance and might partially explain the reaction he faced.

The story goes on to suggest that as a result around six men attacked him outside and kept jumping up and down on his ankle while shouting “break his legs”. It’s obviously left him battered and bruised as he ended up with some fairly nasty looking injuries.

They suggest he suffered some ankle ligament damage in the attack which could leave him out of action for up to a month.

It’s a further setback for him as he attempts to get his faltering career back on track. He was such a vital member of the Leicester team that won the Premier League, but has only made 12 league appearances for Chelsea in the last two years.

He’s 29 so needs to start reestablishing himself as a first team player soon or he will end up being forgotten about and will really struggle to find a Premier League club next season.

Did he deserve the battering?

Not berating Bamford, PB is what he is a championship striker who will never reach the heights of the so called greats. If he scores 25 goals this season he would have a excellent season & done his job propelling us the premiership hopefully

I was dreaming of having a Yeboah type in our current team, never gonna happen unfortunately :(

Indeed, if you look at the goals that Norwich WBA and Blunts scored last season, especially the late ones, many were when they just were able to strike from around the box. Many times the scorer made the goal all by himself through sheer determination.
This is an element we havent saw much of at Leeds. Costas shot vs a Bristol when he cut across the eighteen yard line and wrapped his left foot around the ball, on,y to see the keep pull off a great save to his left.
More of that please.

Like you am hoping Costa can be the man to get goals out of nothing. His shot (think it was Stoke not Bristol) was a great hit and he also has the ability to go past a man and shoot with either foot.

Id disagree, Jimmy was immense for us and won the Premier league golden boot while with us.

Tony was spectacular but Jimmy was a goal machine his entire career including for us.

He was on our books so i can pick him :)

Nearly went for the Macedonian Maldini.

Both were goal machines :

194 goals in 411 games - Yeboah

195 goals in 468 games - Hasselbaink

Thats just JFH's league record, he scored over 250 goals.

Tbh i dont really remember Yeboah but JFH is the best number 9 ive seen us have.

Yeboah only played in a major league for 2 years (Bundesliga is a league down on La Liga and The Prem imo).

Jfh played for 10 years in major league and scored 20 goals in 6 of those.
